After spending time strolling around Wachirathan Waterfall, we already felt exhausted and very hungry. I guess that is what happens when you walk around a beautiful place, enjoy the scenery, take photos, and let yourself be amazed by nature. The view was very refreshing, but at the same time, it also made us realize that our energy was already running low hahaha.

So the best thing to do after that kind of activity was very obvious. We had to eat! Lucky for us, there was Wachirathan Restaurant nearby, and it felt like the perfect place to rest, sit down, and enjoy a proper meal. Since we were already in that hungry mode, we wanted something filling and satisfying. Not just snacks, but real food that could make us feel rewarded after exploring the waterfall area.

The restaurant itself has a very simple and relaxing setup. It has that open-air style where you can still feel close to nature while eating. There were long tables, blue chairs, electric fans, and a very casual atmosphere. It was not fancy at all, but I liked it because it matched the surroundings. After walking around the waterfall, I think this kind of place feels more suitable than a very formal restaurant. It feels easy, comfortable, and practical.

For our meal, we ordered grilled chicken, grilled pork, and stir-fried morning glory. Of course, we also had rice because rice makes every meal feel complete, especially when paired with barbecue dishes. When we are exhausted like this, our appetite becomes extra strong, and we wanted to eat a lot. It really felt like we deserved a good meal after wandering around the waterfall.

The grilled chicken and grilled pork caught our attention first, so those were the dishes that we ordered right away. The grilled chicken was a bit tough, but it was very flavorful. That is something I noticed about Thai cuisine. Even if the dish looks simple, the flavor always has something special in it. I am not sure how they do it, but maybe it is because of the combination of herbs, spices, and the way they marinate the meat. It had that savory and slightly smoky taste that made it nice to eat with rice.
The grilled pork was also good, and honestly, I liked it better than the chicken. It had a richer flavor, and the texture was more enjoyable for me. When dipped into the sauce, it became even tastier. There is something about grilled pork and rice that feels very satisfying, especially after a tiring walk.

But the dish that surprised me in a very good way was the stir-fried morning glory. It was freshly cooked, crunchy, and tasty. I really liked the garlicky flavor and the simple sauce that made the vegetables shine. Sometimes, vegetable dishes can be easily ignored when there are grilled meats on the table, but this one deserves attention. It balanced the meal so well and made everything feel less heavy.

After the main dishes, we also enjoyed fresh fruits as dessert. Thailand really has amazing fruits, and I especially liked the mango. The texture was almost like custard, soft and smooth, while the sweetness was subtle and pleasant. It was a refreshing way to end the meal.

Overall, our dining experience at Wachirathan Restaurant was very enjoyable. The food was simple, comforting, and satisfying. The beautiful scenery of the waterfall also helped make the whole experience feel even better. Good food after a nice nature walk? That is definitely my kind of reward.
Bon appetit!
