Whenever you buy vegetables from the market, collect the seeds when you slice the vegetables that still have seeds. It doesn't matter if the produce is not fresh. The seeds can be beneficial and can even help you farm vegetables and get a good harvest.
The seeds should be collected and kept aside. Then, it should be washed and dried. After a day, you can prepare a bed and fill it with manure, mud, and organic fertiliser. If you do not have any of these, just take an empty paint bucket or sack and fill it with mud. It will be just fine. Nowadays, one can get organic manure through Amazon, too.
Carefully place the seeds inside the mud and cover them. Do not pour too much water. Just sprinkling will do. Keep it in sunlight. Remember to water it daily. If you have planted creeper seeds like pumpkin, then make sure to place the seed bed near the ground so that it can help the creeper spread. If in case, it is a bitter gourd, then place a framework (made out of poles) like structure, near the seed bed so that the creeper can be helped to twine around the framework and grow. Ropes should be tied throughout the framework. The creeper will find a way about, and soon you will find that the plant is weaving its way around the framework, which should, of course, be planted firmly on the ground for support and sturdiness.
Care should be taken to check daily for mites, insects, and other weeds that could destroy the saplings. Do not be disappointed if the flowers do not bloom soon. A healthy plant will have to first develop, and then there will be flowers with small bulbs that will grow into vegetables.
Some farmers advise planting colorful flower plants near vegetables. This is to attract away insects that could otherwise harm the vegetable plants.
Vegetable farming is a very good source of income and can get you good profits. If you are not interested in selling it, you can also gift the produce to family and friends or barter produce with other farmers.
