Many of us up here lean into summer hard and cottaging is among the best beer-drinkin' activities. You are invited to leave a huge upvote and join our friend @detlev to create your own #beersaturday post with the gang! So glad to have found a home with beer drinkers across the world on my favourite blockchain.
For week 428, I am bringing you back to paradise and enjoying a few delicious beers on the dock beside the river in cottage country!

The pint of the week is generally out on the town or in a social setting with friends. In this case, it was a celebratory pint with my little one right after we got her moved into her first college apartment! That is a period of time where my #beerology journey started but she is smarter than I was and might party a little less than I did. As for the beer? Pineapple Ninja Wheat Ale is one I see from time to time at a specific restaurant chain and they sell a 23 ounce glass so I am IN for this sweet and flavourful treat!

Beers in Paradise!
About 10 days ago, I shared a magical weekend up in the north country where friends gather from all around every year for a camping and music festival on a private cottage. Normally, the beers are just plentiful and I forget to capture them to share here. Good news is my buddy Dinser (who really should make a Hive Blog to share his adventurous bachelor lifestyle in the big city!) got a shot to share. Here we have me in my popular cabana suit, posing in front of a refreshing Get Wrecked Pilsner from Radical Road Brewery in Toronto.
Get Wrecked - Collab Pilsner
TORONTO SCUBA COLLAB Partnering with our next door neighbours, a portion of each sale of this German-style pilsner goes to Swim, Drink, Fish - an organisation dedicated to keeping our Great Lakes clean for everyone's enjoyment and well being.
Not only a good summer beer, but someone in the back ground taking a big jump off the high dock and missing the ball that was thrown to him in the air. Doesn't get any more summery than this!

As for what I was drinking that sunny Sunday afternoon in paradise, Lone Pine IPA from Sawdust City Brewing. This is one of my longest running favourite IPAs from a brewery up in these parts and I gladly snag these fresh off the shelf for summer adventure. Gotta be careful with these when rocking the cabana suit and matching beers with people drinking the light stuff as it packs a 6.5% ABV and a nice west coast bitterness.

Sitting close to the original spot but looking out over the bay in the river, you can measure in beers how long this awesome session of swimming, listening to music and hanging with friends celebrating the cottage life lasted. As long as we could make it last. Making it even better was one of my favourite seasonal IPAs from Great Lakes Brewing Karma Citra IPA. Citra is a must in my preferred IPAs whether they are from one of the hundred craft breweries in this region, or in the IPA we brew for ourselves.
So balanced with a nice medium body, sweetness and bitterness that seem to fit together like yin and yang. Perfect balance for the end of a wonderful summer!!
Might as well pull out the coveted seal of approval for one of the most talked about IPAs in this region. Make this a year-round brew GLB!

Brewing!
Speaking of brewing for ourselves, the garage brewery was in full swing on #beersaturday. Here, we have the 2 little brewers going along side the big one for 3 batches brewing at once. The little ones are an Alt Red and a marzen of sorts. The big brewer is rocking out trademark Amber Ale which we hope to enter into the provincial brewing contest in a couple weeks.
A little chaos is expected when we are brewing on all cylinders to catch up on a couple slower brewing weeks.
After getting those into the fermenters, it was time to brew our standard NEIPA! Strat with boiling the water mineral conditioned water, and grinding from full grains. These are pale ale lightly roasted grains and it is unbelievable to see how much more goes into IPA than the other beers. Not to mention the volume of Galaxy, Amarillo, Mosaic and Citra hops that go in at stages during the boil.
14 or so days and we will see how this batch turns out

#BEERSaturday!
Beer is consumed in slightly different ways all around the globe and I like the Netherlands and US Beer Bar style glasses the most.
Now it is time for you to join me, @detlev , and these other beerologists because there is always room for more beer bloggers at this week's Beer Saturday gathering... hive.blog/hive-187719/@detlev/beersaturday-428 Lets drink to the summer!
