A Mischievous Start to my 2025 Christmas Calendar 🍺
Each year, the beerlover @detlev get's his beer xmas calendar filled with hand picked bottles from many secret places. Means my beloved wife collects all this beer and store it in the special box where I can pick a bottle each day.
So, here we go with day 1 aka Beervent Day 1

Hey Hive Family
I it beervent time again
so, enjoy the Canaille Blanche and
let us travel the world again
Meet Canaille Blanche: A Belgian Flirt in a Bottle
When I opened the first door at my 2025 Christmas beer calendar, I was greeted by a cheeky little number: Canaille Blanche. A lovely designed bottle with enough attitude to charm a monk, and I don’t say that lightly.
Canaille is a Belgian white ale (Blanche/Witbier) clocks in at a light and sessionable little 5.2% ABV, with a hazy, pale and yellow body that practically glows once poured.
The foam? As fluffy and persistent as a snowdrift on a silent night. One sip in, and I was met with citrus, wheat, and a subtle spice twist—think coriander and orange peel doing the tango in a snow globe.
And the taste? Smooth, crisp, slightly spicy, with just enough zing to wake your winter senses without scaring off the Santa in you.

That Special Something
It’s not just another witbier. No, Canaille Blanche has a playful, almost impish charm that makes it stand out. True to its name—“canaille” roughly translates to “rascal” or “scoundrel”. This beer isn’t trying to be overly sophisticated or mysterious. It’s like the friend who spikes your cocoa at the Christmas market and then buys you churros to make up for it.

The Label – Naughty & Nice
Let’s talk about the design. The label features a cheeky silhouette of a woman holding a beer, which already sets the mood. Wrapped in cool shades of ice blue, diamond patterns, and retro fonts, it’s stylish but not trying too hard. It says: “I know I’m good-looking, and yes—I brought the party.”
And set against the backdrop of my ridiculously festive pine-needle wrapping paper, the bottle looked right at home. It might just be the most giftable bottle of the calendar.
The Brewery – Grain d'Orge, Belgium
Brewed by Grain d'Orge, a Belgian brewery with a flair for bold characters, this beer reflects the fun and freedom of small-batch Belgian brewing. Nestled somewhere between tradition and rebellion, they craft beers that are approachable, quirky, and full of soul.

A Perfect First Sip of December
So here’s to Day 1 of my beer filled countdown to Xmas. "Canaille Blanche" didn’t just open the calendar; it kicked the door in wearing tinsel and sunglasses. It’s not a serious contemplative brew—it’s here to get the party started.
I can’t wait to see what’s next, but this little rascal has already raised the bar.
Cheers to mischievous beginnings! 🍻

best of all are the friends of "Canaille" as the well know "brice" and "joup" beers are made at the same brewery.
My next travel
Just by this research I figuered out that this brewery is more or less close by. Even better, there is a tasting room and even some good food.

Thanks for to all my family members and mainly to my wife for this inspirational beer from a brewery, which is so close by.
It might be a good idea and a nice trip to visit Hombourg and the brewery within the next few months.
Have a great day everybody
and let us travel the world again
