Let's make egg rolls at tea time.

Good morning to all hive friends.
Egg rolls are a popular and comforting tea-time snack that perfectly blend softness and flavor. Wrapped in a thin crepe-like layer and filled with a deliciously seasoned egg mixture, they offer a satisfying balance of taste and texture. Whether enjoyed during a relaxing afternoon or shared with guests, these rolls bring a homemade warmth that everyone loves. With simple ingredients and easy steps, they’re a great choice for both beginners and experienced cooks.

Ingredients...

Wheat flour 200g.
Coconut oil for frying.
Curry leaves.
1 Onion.
2 or 3 cloves of garlic.
1 green chili pepper.
A few leeks.
Salt as needed.
2 Teaspoon of crushed chili powder.
1 Teaspoon of Pepper powder.
1/2 Teaspoon of turmeric powder.
1 Teaspoon of Roasted curry powder.
1 Egg.
A large boiled and mashed potato. (I used potatoes and sweet potatoes for this.)
Breadcrumbs 50g.

The order of preparation.

Step 1:-
First, I added some wheat flour into a bowl and mixed in a pinch of salt and a little turmeric powder. Then, I gradually added water while stirring to make a slightly thick batter.

Step 2:-
Next, finely chop the onions, green chilies, garlic, and leeks. At the same time, mash the boiled potatoes and sweet potatoes well until smooth.

Step 3:-
Now, I take a pan and add about two tablespoons of coconut oil. Once the oil is heated, I add onions, garlic, curry leaves, green chilies, chili powder, roasted curry powder, turmeric powder, and salt. Then I mix everything well and sauté the mixture until it becomes fragrant and slightly golden.

Step 4:-
Next, I add the mashed potato and sweet potato mixture to it and mix everything well. After about 2 minutes, I remove it from the stove.

Step 5:-
Next, take another pan and heat it on the stove. Once it’s hot, pour in the prepared batter and spread it evenly, as shown below.

Step 6:-
Next, place the prepared filling and a piece of boiled egg on top of the batter mixture, arranging it neatly as shown below.

Step 7:-
Next, dip it in the batter and then coat it in the breadcrumbs.

Step 8:-

Now, take a separate pan and add some coconut oil, placing it on the stove. Once the oil is hot, add the prepared rolls and fry them until they turn a golden-brown color.

After preparing, serve these golden egg rolls warm with a cup of tea or coffee. Their soft, flavorful filling and light outer layer make them irresistible for all ages. You can even add a hint of spice or vegetables for a personal twist. A small effort in the kitchen brings a big smile to everyone around the tea table — a perfect ending to a cozy evening!
