I expect that some stuff is not economical to mine in the UK as well as local objections. What Trump is doing is just criminal though in blackmailing or threatening to take over countries for their mineral wealth. He just thinks in terms of business and not diplomacy.

        I'm not even sure he thinks in terms of business. More like in terms of being a crime boss. JD Vance’s recent “We cannot just ignore the president’s desires” sounds like a capo talking about his mafia don.
