Yam pepper soup for a nursing mother//Ji mmirioku

in #plantpoweryesterday

This is a local dish that is prepared for a mother who newly gave birth to help cleanse the womb and it also helps in the flow of the breas milk. @qurator have asked for something easy and quick in the #HiveTopChef competition so i have come with this local dish that it's recipe isn't stable. It can be twisted based on the choice of the new mother or her caregiver, it doesn't have a particular method. Note; that this dish isn't for anyone who is trying to conceive or at her early pregnancy.

Ingredients for Ji Mmirioku

  • 400g of yam
  • 1/2 teaspoon of salt
  • 1 teaspoon of black pepper
  • 12 pieces of uda seed
  • 1 table spoon of uziza seed
  • 10 pieces of uziza leaves

Step one
Peel the yam, cut the uziza leaves with your hand or kitchen knife, pound the uziza and uda seeds together.

Step two
In the pot put the yam

Add the pounded seeds

Next to follow is the black pepper

My salt followed immediately

Poured in enough water that will cook it for thirty minutes when the yam will be done.

Just few minutes to bring it down i added the uziza leaves and allowed it for two minutes then bring it down.

This dish is usually plated in two different plates.

I have come with another recipe and thank you for visiting my blog once again.

Yes aside that it's for a nursing mother it's good for a cold weather. You nursed nah, I know you ate well those days, smile.
