On Saturday morning when I pulled up the shades, I discovered it had snowed in the night. Not a lot but areas were white. It was a bright sunny day so I didn’t have to tend stoves much.
I wrote 2 posts and that took most of the morning. I got another load of dishes in the dishwasher and cleaned up a bit. But mostly I rested and read or played solitaire.
By late afternoon all the dishes were done but I still had a lot of stuff to put away. That would wait until Sunday.

At 4PM I turned on the candles and the Christmas tree. In an hour it was dark and I got the wood stoves lit.

The light from the wood stoves is comforting. Something about the flickering soft light and of course, the warmth, that radiates from them.

Just a shot I tried with the flash, but it doesn’t catch the real light of the fire.

As I turned around from the shot of the masonry heater, I noticed the reflection of the fire in the roundtop, above the candles. It’s this soft calm light that I so enjoy in the evenings. I keep all lights off throughout the house, just the candles. If I want to read I’ll have 1 light on.
I had the candles off, the fires going, shades pulled and was in bed by 8:30PM.
On Sunday I hope to start the bills/budget, get everything from Thursday put away and keep the stoves going. It’s to snow/rain most of the day but be a bit warmer. I have to call my neighbor to see if she can bring me to exercise class on Monday. I’m finally going to get started on all that.
