Such intelligent birds with many tricks to find that all important food. Those berries weren't ripe so they are forced into plan B. It is interesting that they wouldn't like the strawberry-guava fruit, fruit is fruit. Maybe it doesn't taste good to them? That one sure picked the avocado peel clean, and it was curious enough to make sure the other side wasn't hiding any goodies as well!

Those are some great pictures of those starlings, they are pretty birds!

These are only the scouts that check up on the tree berries progress. As soon as they are ready, we will have a big flock in that tree again. They are also natural raiders, forever searching for food, and at a coffee shop that we visit, they come in to eat cheese from my wives' hand. No idea why they don't like the strawberry-guava berries. You are right, as it wouldn't want to leave some for other birds, so he flipped it over to make sure :)
