Vermont charcuterie

Cheeses

We made a charcuterie board to enjoy while watching the Great British Bake Off. Since we're in Vermont we started with some Vermont cheeses. Three from Blue Ledge Farms here in Salisbury! Riley's 2x4 (Riley was their first herding dog and 2x4 refers to the cheese being a goat/cow milk mix. Goats have 2 teats and Cows have 4 teats 🙂). Moosalamoo is a creamy mild, cow cheese. Lake's Edge is a goat, ash-ripened cheese.

Charcuterie

We added some locally produced hard salami and a baguette from Red Hen Bakery in Middlesex, Vermont - A great stop for lunch if you find yourself driving between Montpelier and Burlington on the interstate. The fourth cheese is Harbison from Jasper Hill Farms. One of our favorites that is on the menu at our favorite restaurant 😋 Harbison is readily available these days at Whole Foods among other places.

Since three of the cheeses were from a farm in Salisbury we thought a visit was in order.

Goat sign

They have a cute little farmstand on the farm.

Road sign

Open all summer. Its self serve. You can pay by putting cash in a lock box or Venmo.

Cooler

Nicely merchandised fridge and a few other items to complement their cheeses.

Other goods

Some jams, nuts, dried meats, etcetera plus some cute mugs, t-shirts, the usual. Fun stop at a cool, local business.

Greetings @steven-patrick ,

Thank you for these lovely introductions....a beautiful post.

This post may be a good fit for the hashtag worldmapping.....idk if this is the correct spelling.

Kind Regards,

Bleujay

Thanks that is a good idea. I usually feature different spots/scenes from Vermont in my posts. I could call that out.

I suspect mom would like the goats more than her lol. She used to have them when she was a kid 4h shows and everything.

My daughter would be in heaven at this place. Lately all she wants to eat is cheese, crackers and pepperoni.

Plus you can check out the goats 🙂
