I consider that the fundamental aspect of food photography is understanding what the main subject is. It is essential to observe what we want to show and respect its textures, shine, etc. For me, it is a field in which the artistic aspect can be more related to the composition and choice of colors to use than to modifying them in post-production, so as not to alter the appearance of what is being photographed. In the case I am showing you, there was not much to choose from, just photos taken at a hot dog stand with a flash on the camera, trying to achieve the greatest depth of field possible to adequately show each dish.
