Oppression and resistance - watercolors on paper
Hello everyone, dear Hivers friends, and welcome back to my blog. Today I am sharing a subject that borders on the metaphysical but with very well-defined symbolic content. As an art history teacher, I am often disappointed by the redundancy of the infrastructure that oppresses archaeological sites and, above all, by the inexorable advance of enormous buildings and skyscrapers. So I have attempted to express my disappointment with the visual representation of some eternal monuments such as pyramids, temples, arches, and capitals that are overshadowed by suffocating skyscrapers.
The theme of the painting often reflects the general theme in which many works of art lie abandoned or mistreated by progress; they are the last bastions of our history.

Oppressione e resistenza - acquarelli su carta
Ciao a tutti cari amici Hivers e bentornati sul mio blog. Oggi condivido un soggetto al limite della metafisica ma con contenuti simbolici molto ben definiti. Da insegnante di storia dell'arte resto spesso deluso dalla ridondanza delle infrastrutture che opprimono i siti archeologici e soprattutto dall'avanzamento inesorabile di enormi palazzi e grattacieli. Così ho tentato di esprimere il mio disappunto con la rappresentazione visiva di alcuni monumenti eterni come piramidi, templi, archi e capitelli che vengono sovrastati da grattacieli asfissianti.
Il tema del dipinto riflette spesso quello generale in cui giacciono molte opere d'arte abbandonate o maltrattate dal progresso, esse sono gli ultimi baluardi della nostra storia.
