RE: Digging through Bitcoin cryptography

Elliptic curve signatures are important for account security but they don´t make Bitcoin "crypto". Paypal or Bank accounts are also cryptographically secured. The "crypto" in Cryptocurrency originally comes from the privacy/anonymity aspect via obfuscation and zero knowledge cryptography that we should not forget. These days "crypto" refers to the cryptographically secured consensus in most "cryptos", but even here some cryptos don't work with crypto, like our hive chain. It has no Merkle trees.

Interesting aspect. 👍🏻 Thanks for clarifying.
