Sarsaparilla Root Beer Recipe
Ever since I was a child, I’ve been drinking this incredible beverage, root beer. In my hometown of Mérida, Yucatán, Mexico, it’s very common in the city center to visit the many soda fountains and shops that sell different kinds of juices, smoothies, and, among them, root beer.
This syrup that @curvymosquito83 found and shared with me is for making Cerveza de Raíz Zarzaparrilla, a drink that piqued her curiosity because of a side quest in the Fallout game series, which is totally crazy.
Well, to cut a long story short, I’m sharing my recipe for my incredible Zarzaparrilla Root Beer. I hope you like it and can make it at home—maybe with a different brand—it’s sure to be just as delicious and refreshing.
Desde que era un niño probé esta increíble bebida, Cerveza de raíz, en mi ciudad Mérida Yucatán México se acostumbran mucho en el centro de la ciudad asistir a los múltiples puestos de fuentes de sodas, comercios donde hay a la venta diferentes tipos de jugos, licuados y entre ellos la cerveza de raíz.
Este jarabe que consiguió @curvymosquito83 y compartió conmigo es para preparar Cerveza de Raíz Zarzaparrilla bebida que se le hizo curiosa por una misión secundaría en el universo de la saga del juego Fallout, lo cual es loquísimo.
Bueno para no hacer mas largo el cuento, les comparto mi receta de mi increíble bebida Cerveza de raíz Zarzaparrilla. Esperando sea de su agrado y puedan replicarla en casa, talvez con alguna otra marca, seguro quedará igual de rica y refrescante.
Recipe and Instructions/Receta y Procedimiento
To start, I’ll list the ingredients. This recipe makes one 500-ml glass. I want to point out that brands and packaging may vary depending on where you are, but nothing is impossible to find 😉:
Sarsaparilla root beer syrup.
Mineral water (enough to fill the glass)
1 tablespoon of honey
Ice cubes
Para comenzar listaré los ingredientes, esta receta es para preparar un vaso de 500 ml, quiero resaltar que las marcas y las presentaciones pueden variar según la zona en donde te encuentres, pero nada es imposible de encontrar 😉:
Jarabe de cerveza de raíz Zarzaparrilla.
Agua mineral (suficiente)
1 cucharada de miel
Hielos
There’s no rocket science to making this, but you do need to measure the ingredients carefully: add ice to the glass to your liking, then 6 tablespoons of sarsaparilla root beer syrup (to be exact), followed by 1 tablespoon of honey, and finish with chilled mineral water.
El modo de preparar no tiene ciencia pero si cantidades, debes agregar el hielo según tu gusto al vaso y después el jarabe de cerveza de raíz de Zarzaparrilla 6 cucharadas para ser exactos, después una cucharada de miel para concluir con agua mineral previamente enfriada.
Last words/Despedida
Root beer is a real tradition in my town, and being able to enjoy it in the comfort of your own home is a real treat. I hope you can enjoy it as much as I do—whether at home or, if there’s a soda fountain near you, ask if they have syrup to take home; you might be in for a surprise.
