Hi friends, since returning from Colombia, I'm currently missing something that had become a daily routine. There (at least where I was) there are many juice vendors with carts and their convenient appliances to serve you right in front of you, and you can freely choose how you prefer it. And now, after more than 15 days in Barquisimeto, I've taken the liberty of making my own juice at home so my stomach doesn't forget about it.
Hola amigos, con mi regreso de Colombia actualmente extraño algo que se había vuelto una rutina diaria. Allá (por lo menos en el sitio donde estaba) hay muchos vendedores de jugos en puestos con carritos y sus oportunos electrodomésticos para atenderte enfrente y puedes decidir libremente como lo prefieres. Y ya con más de 15 días en Barquisimeto, me tomé la libertad de hacer mi propio jugo en casa para que no pierda la costumbre mi estómago.
These little fruits you see here come from a pation fruit I planted myself when we moved north of Barquisimeto. It's been in My garden for a little over two years now, and I've been eagerly waiting for it to bear fruits. For the last six months, it's been flowering actively and producing more and more fruits. I used one for my juice (it was the last one that fell a few days ago), and you can see it has plenty of pulp, and they've all been like that. Since I made a double juice, I blended it with a little less than half a liter of water.
Estas pequeñas que pueden ver aquí, vienen de una plata que yo mismo planté cuando nos mudamos al norte de Barquisimeto, esta ya tiene un poco más de dos años conmigo y en una ardua espera de que diera fruto, desde hace 6 meses esta ha estado muy activa en floración y dando cada vez más frutas. Para mi jugo utilicé una (fue la última que cayó hace días), y pueden ver que tiene suficiente pulpa, y así han sido así todas. Y este como lo hice un jugo doble, lo licué con un poco menos de medio litro de agua.
Obviously, we need to blend the passion fruit first and strain it separately; this prevents us from ingesting the seeds. I must confess that this is my favorite fruit in juice, and I first tried it in milk in Colombia, and it was truly delicious. This inspired me to make this version.
Obviamente, debemos licuar primero la parchita y colarlo por aparte, esto nos evita tomar las semillas. Debo confesar que esta es mi fruta en jugo favorita, y en Colombia lo tomé por primera vez en leche, y de verdad fue un verdadero gusto, esto me motivo a hacer este.
I took 6 bananas and added them to the blender, along with the juice. And here's a completely optional step: I added powdered milk, but this juice is very good without it. You can use almond milk, or any milk you like, and it's also very good with just water. Even the sugar is optional, and that's something I loved about Magangué and is that they always cater to my preferences, and they treat my partner very well with healthy juices.
Tomé 6 cambures y los agregué en la licuadora, junto al jugo. Y aquí vamos con un paso totalmente opcional, yo agregué leche en polvo, pero este jugo promete ser muy bueno sin él, pudiendo usar leche de almendra, o alguna que les guste, y muy bueno queda con solo con agua, pero aquí hasta la azúcar es al gusto, y fue algo que me fascinó de Magangué, aquí siempre me atienden a mí a mi gusto y a mi pareja, lo atienden muy bien con jugos sanos.
I blended the juice long enough to achieve the perfect texture with the well-processed banana. Combining fruits is a bit new to me, so I did a lot of research beforehand. Every recipe showed me different varieties, and everything was explained to me before starting. I learned here that this combination is very Caribbean and has been very well received by those who have tried it.
Licué el tiempo suficiente el jugo, para que quedara perfecta su textura con el cambur bien procesado. Es un poco nuevo para mí el combinar frutas, y esto me llevó a investigar muy bien antes de hacerlo: En toda receta se me mostraba variedades, y se me explicó todo antes de empezar, y me enteré desde acá que esta combinación es muy caribeña, con una gran aprobación desde quienes lo han probado.
This juice is excellent because of its great combination of vitamins and potassium with natural sugars, obviously without milk or added sugar, making it a great option for those looking for healthy choices. It can provide energy and is believed to improve mood, which I think is good information, especially for those of us who enjoy this type of diet. Personally, I really enjoy refreshing myself with natural juices.
Este jugo es excelente por una buena combinación de vitaminas y potasio con azúcares naturales, obviamente sin leche ni azúcar, para quienes buscan opciones sanas. Este puede dar energía y se tiene la creencia de que mejora el ánimo, esto me parece una buena información, y más para los que gustamos de este tipo de alimentación, por mi parte, me gusta mucho refrescarme con jugos naturales.
Among other things, but still relevant, some of the juices I've most enjoyed and discovered in Colombia are: Carrot Extract + Orange Juice, Soursop + Blackberry (in Milk), Loquat (in Milk), Passion Fruit (in Milk), Coconut Water, and Sapote. These are some of the things I miss most about Colombia, but we'll soon be back there drinking some of the best juices I've ever tasted.
Entre otro tipo de información, pero referente; entre los jugos que más he disfrutado y he conocido en Colombia están: Extracto de Zanahoria + Zumo de Naranja, Guanábana + Mora (en Leche), Níspero (en Leche), Parchita (en Leche), Agua de coco y Zapote. Estas es de las cosas que extraño mucho de Colombia, pero pronto volveremos a estar en esos lares bebiendo de los mejores jugos que he probado.
