My family made merit by selling sweets and giving money to the temple.

Hello friends, I am still in the story of Songkran again. It is a holiday period that my family and I have many activities to share with you because my family made merit together by taking money to buy equipment to make desserts. We divided it up as follows: My younger brother was responsible for making sweet fillings and preparing green kneaded dough from pandan leaves. My father found young coconuts to sprinkle on the finished desserts.

When we had to go sell at Wat Khanon, we went to prepare the shop by informing the temple to arrange a place for us. We brought a gas stove and a pot for boiling hot water. My wife also bought paper cups to put desserts in for customers.

The dessert we made and sold that day was called Khanom Tom. We took the well-kneaded dough and put the prepared filling in it, molded it into a ball, and put it in hot water. When it was cooked, it would float up. Then, we scooped it into a tray and sprinkled it with prepared shredded young coconut.

When customers came to buy, we scooped it into paper cups. We sold three balls for ten baht. We donated all the money to the temple to use in various temple activities. We started selling at around 3 p.m. It took about three hours for everything we prepared to be gone.

This year, we helped out for two days. On the first day, we sold fried fish cakes and fried tofu, and on the second day, we sold steamed dumplings. This is the fourth year we have done this. It is a fun activity because everyone in the family gets together to help out.
