Hello dear DiyHub friends, I hope you're all doing well and having a lovely Saturday afternoon. Today I want to share a drawing with you. Before I begin, I want to remind you that last week I also drew a Pokémon, but that time I drew Charmander. This time, I've chosen someone different. I'm drawing Mew, a very powerful Psychic-type Pokémon. It's said to be the ancestor of all Pokémon, as it contains the genetic blueprint for all existing Pokémon species. Mew has a small, adorable, and feline appearance, with a pale pink color. It has a long, thin, curling tail. It's said that its fur is so fine that it can only be seen under a microscope. With all this in mind, I drew this Pokémon using only colored pencils and a few touches of white paint. Here you can see the process of how I did it, and also a short video so you can see my technique. Let's get started!
Hola queridos amigos de DiyHub, espero que estén muy bien y que tengan una linda tarde de sábado, hoy quiero compartir con ustedes un dibujo, no sin antes recordar que la semana pasó atambién hice un dibujo de pokemon pero en esa oportunidad había dibujado a Charmander, pero ahora he elegido a alguien diferente. en esta oportunidad dibujó a Mew, un pokemon muy podesoro del tipo psíquico, de él se dice que es el ancestro de todos los Pokémon, ya que que contiene el mapa genético de todas las especies Pokémon existentes. Mew tiene una apariencia pequeña, adorable y felina, de color rosa pálido. Posee una cola larga y delgada que se enrolla. Se dice que su pelaje es tan fino que solo puede distinguirse bajo un microscopio. Con todo esto en mente dibujó un este pokemon con solo lápices de colores y pintura blanca en pocas ocasiones, aquí puedes ver el proceso de como lo he realizado y también un video corto para que observes mi técnica. ¡Comenzamos!

I began my drawing by choosing a good paper. I used Fabriano paper with a very coarse grain, almost like cardboard. The reason for using this paper and not another is that I need to mix several types of colors, so the better it absorbs the color, the better the results will be. This paper is also used for watercolors since it withstands moisture very well, so I started by sketching Mew using only a fine graphite pencil. To define the initial parts of the drawing, I colored the areas that would be illuminated by the light, using a white charcoal pencil.
Mi dibujo lo he comenzado eligiendo en primer lugar un buen papel, he utilizado papel Fabriano de un grano muy grueso, casi como cartón, la razón de utilizar este papel y no otro es porque necesito mezclar varios tipos de colores por lo que mientras pueda absorber mejor el color, mejor serán los resultados. Este papel también se utiliza para acuarelas ya que soporta muy bien la humedad, así que comienzo haciendo un boceto de Mew solamente con lápiz de grafito fino, y para delimitar las primeras partes del dibujo lo que hago es pintar las partes que estarían iluminadas por la luz, esto lo hago con lápiz de carboncillo color blanco.

A Pokémon as cute as Mew deserves unique eyes. They shouldn't be painted uniformly; instead, you need to add color and leave areas for highlights. To make the eyes stand out against Mew's pink hue, I add purple and blue. Between the purples, I add its lighter version, lilac, and in that transition, I also add fuchsia and blue. With this in mind, I paint both eyes.
Un pokemón tan tierno como lo es Mew debe tener unos ojos únicos, no deben ser pintados uniformes sino que hay que agregarle color así como también dejar partes para la iluminación. Para que los ojos resalten con el tono de rosa de Mew agrego colores púrpuras y también azules. Entre el color púrpura agrego su versión más clara que sería el Lila, y en esa transición le pongo también fucsia y el azul, con esto en mente voy pintando ambos ojos.

After all the previous steps, I begin painting Mew's skin, which, as I mentioned before, isn't actually its skin. Because its fur is so fine and small, it's not visible to the naked eye, so it appears to be its skin. My goal is to make it shiny, so in addition to mixing the pink colors and the range of tones, I also need to know how to apply light. Therefore, on the face and neck, I start by painting a thin layer of very light pastel pink, and then I gradually darken it with pink, fuchsia, and finally purple to add contrast.
Luego de todo el proceso anterior compienzo a pintar la piel de Mew, que como dije antes no es directamente su piel, sino que como sus pelaje es muy fino y pequeño este no puede verse a simple vista por lo que parece su piel. Mi objetivo es hacerlo brillante por lo que ademas de mezclar los colores rosas y la gama de tonos también debo saber aplicar la luz. Así que en el rostro y el cuello comienzo a pintar una fina capa de color rosa pastel, muy claro y luego voy oscureciendo con rosa, fucsia y en última instancia púrpura para agregar contraste.

You could say that in the first and second layers of color I worked with light colors; now it's time to work with the darker areas to create contrast and volume in the drawing. After coloring the entire body, I begin adding a darker, more intense fuchsia tone to the arms and legs. You can see the difference in the colors I've been using.
Se podría decir que en la primera y segunda capa de colore trabajé con colores claros, ahora me toca trabajar con la parte más oscura para generar contraste y volumen en el dibujo. Luego de colorear todo el cuerpo, comienzo a agregar un tono fucsia más oscuro e intenso, por la parte del cuerpo donde estan los brazos y piernas, se puede observar la diferencia en cuanto a los colores que venía utilizando.

Then I add purple and, in very specific cases, dark blue. These are shadows that don't take up much space, so they can be added alongside the purple to make the difference less noticeable. I repeat this entire process from the beginning because I want the drawing to have a lot of depth in the colors and volume.
Luego voy agregando color púrpura y en casos muy puntuales color azul oscuro, los casos referidos son sombras que no ocupan mucho espacio, por lo que se pueden agregar junto al púrpura para que la diferencia no sea tan notable. Todo este proceso lo voy haciendo de nuevo desde el principio, pues quiero que el dibujo tenga bastante profundidad en los colores y el volumen.

Finally, I add small dots of white paint. These dots will go, for example, in the eyes. This will help give the eyes a reflective effect that will bring Mew's gaze to life. I'll also add them to some parts of the head and arms. To finish Mew's shine, I draw a small line of white paint along the outline of its figure, and that's how it's completed.
Por último agrego pequeños puntos de pintura blanca, estos puntos de pintura irán por ejemplo en los ojos, esto ayudara a que los ojos queden con un efecto de reflejo que le darán mucha vida a la mirada de Mew, así también en algunas partes de la cabeza y brazos. Para terminar con el brillo de Mew trazo una pequeña línea de pintura blanca por el contorno de su figura, y de esta manera quedó finalizado.
What do you think of the result? Do you think it looks brilliant? According to Pokémon lore, Mew originally came from South America (it was sighted near a waterfall similar to Angel Falls in Venezuela), and it was long believed to be extinct, considered more of a mirage than reality due to its extreme rarity. So, the simple fact that Mew belongs to my country is a really cool reason for me to have drawn it, hehe. I hope you liked it; I made it with all my heart to share. ¿Qué les ha parecido el reusltado? ¿Creen que se ve brillante? Según la historia de Pokemon, Mew procede originalmente de Sudamérica (se menciona su avistamiento cerca de una cascada similar al Salto Ángel en Venezuela), y se creía extinto por mucho tiempo, siendo considerado más un espejismo que una realidad debido a su extrema rareza. Así que por este simple hecho, de que Mew pertenezca a mi país es una razón muy genial para haberlo dibujado jejeje.
