Last weekend I celebrated my best friend Jenneth birthday with a lovely picnic. When the sun rose on a great Saturday morning I was bathed in a feeling of excitement. I had worked on this surprise picnic long enough, I could not wait to have Jenneth see my reaction!
A nearby park was selected where we could go and have a picnic, a green space with its growing flowers and trees which could offer us the desired level of shade. The rustling of leaves, the happy singing of the birds established a calming atmosphere, which was ideal to spend time having fun and relaxing. I had set things up early because there was some nice white blanket that I had to lay on which would serve as a good contrast with the lush green that surrounded us. I laid out a veritable feast of goodies and was looking forward to Jenneth coming in and being surprised by all I had done.
Jenneth fell upon her knees in surprise and delight when she came. This is fabulous! Taking in the scene before her she exclaimed, Yes Yes. Prepared were her favoritest foods, such as mocha cake wafers, a variety of biscuits and refreshing lemon juice to help keep us cool. I went to take a few candles to make her birthday party feel special.
When we had taken the blanket we sat down, and started to eat. We joked, reminisced and exchanged our better times together and what we hoped to achieve in the future. EVERY bite of the delicious products was followed by the stories which caused us to laugh.
Once we had finished having food we agreed to play some games. Along with us we brought a deck of cards and a frisbee. The puzzle with the frisbee became a comic show as we were trying to beat each other in hits. The laughter was heard all over the park making the people smile. Then we played cards and I might have lost so she would have a birthday spirit!
When the day was done, we packed up our picnic, but of course taking a few photos more did not hurt to remind us of the memories we had created. We intended to make such picnic a yearly event, a day that we could use to not only honor her birthday, but also our friendship.
It was not just a picnic but served as a reminder of life and what joy can be had in life and that you should always cherish life and always be happy when they are with loved ones. Happy birthday Jenneth! To more adventures we go!
