Hello, my dearest hive friends. I hope everyone's doing well, and to my fellow Cebuanos who also experienced the earthquake, I hope you are all safe.

This is ....

🫰🏻Back in Bogo: Seeing the City Two Months After the Quake 🫰🏻

When the earthquake happened on September 30, 2024, many buildings were damaged. The most heartbreaking part was that so many churches were affected. Here in San Remigio, our church was totally damaged and can no longer be entered. There was also an old church in Medellin that was damaged during the earthquake.

When we went to Bogo, our main purpose was to light candles at the Archdiocesan Shrine of St. Vincent Ferrer. I already knew beforehand that it was also damaged, but sing it in person was so devastating because it was really destroyed. I'm not sure if it's totally damaged, though.

After we finish lighting candles, if you went to window shopping at J&L, which is a mall in Bogo.

The Super Metro beside J&L had a damaged pillar, it was almost completely detached from the walls.

When i entered J&L, i was shocked to see that the stairs were already decorated for christmas. That was the only time i actually felt the christmas was getting near despite everything that happened. I was really happy because it felt like we were slowly rising again, Bangon Norte.

The only thing we really looked at in J&L was a double-deck bed because my younger brother requested it. We're all getting older and we already need separate beds.

We also did a window shopping for an air conditioner but i am not sure if will actually buy one since we don't really have the money for it.

After that, we checked laptops because I really need one for school right now since our classes are still online in our school is badly damaged. I really wanted the HP laptop but you couldn't afford it because it was almost 20k.

In the end, chose the Lenovo Thinkpad because it was the only one that fit our budget. We actually put it on credit because we didn't have the money to fully pay for it yet. Hihi.

That would be all, thank you for reading!

Congratulations on buying your new laptop. Sobrang necessity talaga yan lalo na kapag college ka or madalas online classes.

It's nice to see that Bogo were starting to rise..overtime it will everything will soon be back into normal...that's beautiful to look at that despite everything, we can see the symbol which is the Christmas decor--this reminds us that to be hopeful in every situation we faced everyday.

That's the spirit of a Cebuano right? Being strong and independent, rising up despite the calamities we've endured. Even though we haven't fully recovered from the devastating earthquake and floods, we can still feel the spirit of Christmas everywhere not just on the decoration alone but also to the people sharing their gifts and blessings. I was also saddened by the churches destroyed by the earthquake. Eh, paano na yon? Malapit na ang simbang gabi? 😞
