Lost the battle but not the war.

Hello friends, it's me again after a while! How have you been?

I didn't write much recently because I had to care about so many things, and I will keep it short: I simply didn't earn enough to build a sustainable business in the Philippines, so that this June 19th I have to go back to work in Hong Kong. Unfortunately, safety won once again over freedom. Life in the Philippines is so expensive: electricity, public transportation, the school of my son... And people are not ready to buy similar prices for food like in Hong Kong - quality is less important than price.

Making food is a joy but living from it in the Philippines is a very hard task.

I hope I can come back again, but for now I need to earn enough money to survive.

But where is rain also the sun shines from time to time:

  • Despite the first workers cheated me and ran away with my money, finally I could fix my house so that I can rent out all rooms while I am in Hong Kong.

  • On YouTube ( https://www.youtube.com/@GensLife-42 ) and X ( https://x.com/GenQuimba ) I gained quite some followers, so that I could promote my book there and maybe in future I can monetize my content.

  • Books on Demand Philippines Inc. printed 50 copies of my book locally in the Philippines so that my Filipino readers can now order it directly from me without having to pay the high delivery fees from Amazon. It's a really nice feeling to keep my book in my own hands now.

You can buy "The Journey of Life" on Amazon ( https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0G95JMWR9 ) or in case you are living in the Philippines just write a comment here - I would send it to you by Lalamove (for Readers located in the Philippines the book costs only 800 PHP plus delivery costs).

  • Finally I also had a nice author Interview which you can read if you want to know more about me and my book. Here's a screenshot to make you curious, hehe:

Apart from that I am still doing my sports routine because whatever happens in future, it's easier to face the challenges of life when being fit and healthy.

That's all from me for now. I hope I can write from time to time when I am in Hong Kong. Bye for now, take care, and see you again one day. God bless you!

I'm sorry your business didn't work out. We can't control events around us. You have to do what you need to survive. You are resourceful. When you first went to Hong Kong you kept looking for a position until you found the right job. You found a way to succeed.

I admire your fortitude. It's inspiring.

Good luck, and my those book sales soar :)

Yes, I will try again if I manage to collect more capital. Until then let's see how things go. Thank you as always for your great support and encouragement, @agmoore!

Philippines right now is a mess. 😞 The economy is so bad... Anyway, congrats on your book! Hmm, the link on Amazon is not working on my end...

That's the correct link:

https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0G95JMWR9

Anyhow PeakD adds the closed bracket to the link. I will edit it now.

Edit: All links should work now.

Sorry to hear that business in PH is that hard. Good luck in Hong Kong and nice to see that your follower base in YouTube and X is growing so fast (easier to succeed there for users with good content than in automated HIVE)!

Thank you for the good wishes! And yes, my YouTube and X are doing rather well these days!

And yes, my YouTube and X are doing rather well these days!

Just focus on that as it brings more attention to your book.
