A Humble Start: Launching My Filipino Food Business with Puto Cheese!

in Hive PH13 hours ago

Hello Hive Family! I hope everyone is doing well.

I am back to share a little more of my life here in the Philippines. Guess what? After step by step buying the necessary appliances, stove, steamer and fridge (to store the food), I finally started my food selling business in the Philippines, and made my first batch of Puto Cheese (a steamed rice cake with a slice of cheese on top)!

Since I don't have my own shop yet, I carved a deal with the owner of a local food store to place my Puto Cheese in the shelves together with her products, paying her a small commission. It's a humble start for now, but I just want to test if my snacks will be as salable here as they were when I used to sell them in Hong Kong.

The next step will be to sell food from home. To get the attention of potential customers I will put a sign on my door and also join some Facebook groups where I offer my services (if anybody here is living in Quezon City like me, and like Puto cheese or Biko, just let me know, hehe!).

Wish me luck for my business! And as always: thank you, Hive, for supporting my blog.
