We decided to check out a new supermarket that we’d heard was affordable and well-stocked—and it really is. It’s a small city supermarket, but it has very spacious departments—especially the produce section, which features vegetables not typical of the area, like sweet potatoes, and the butcher counter, with plenty of tasty cuts of meat. There’s also a deli section with ready-made meals, alongside aisles stocked with all kinds of groceries, household goods, toiletries, clothing, and more. We were really impressed; there are so many essentials at very low prices, plus lots of unique food items. I think it’s going to become one of our regular shopping spots—it’s truly affordable and has such a wide selection. We even picked up the ingredients for a simple dinner there: salad, friselle, and tomatoes.

For dinner, we kept things simple: an arugula salad with corn and cherry tomatoes, and friselle—a classic Italian dish consisting of hard bread rings softened with water and topped with tomatoes, vegetables, cheese, or cold cuts. It’s a quick, simple meal that’s perfect for summer. Then, of course, my phone broke that evening; it was already six years old and showing signs of giving out. After a drop yesterday, it died completely—the screen slowly turned purple until nothing was readable, and the touchscreen stopped working. So today, I went to a phone shop and found a great deal on a Xiaomi phone—the blue one you see in the photo. The price was good, and it has excellent battery life, plenty of storage, and a solid camera—a great phone for the price. I transferred all my data via Bluetooth today; technology is amazing—in the past, I would have had to copy everything manually, but today I just had to link my account, and it moved over all my apps, passwords, photos, and data.
