Hello everyone!
How are you all doing? I hope you're having a wonderful day.
Today, I’m excited to share my lunch experience with you all. Since I was home alone, I had to prepare lunch by myself. I cooked a homestyle meal: egg omelette, mashed potato curry, sautéed greens, and fried dry red chilies—served with freshly steamed white rice.
I managed to capture a few moments from the kitchen while cooking. These pictures tell the story of a warm, comforting, and simple Bengali lunch.
What I Cooked Today:
Omelette
4 eggs
Chopped onion
Green chilies
Salt to taste
Oil for frying
I beat all ingredients in a bowl and pan-fried the omelette until golden brown on both sides.
Mashed Potato Curry with omelette
5 boiled potatoes, peeled and lightly mashed
Onion, garlic, and ginger paste
Turmeric, chili powder, and salt
A bit of water to make a thick, spicy gravy
Omelette
I cooked everything together until it turned into a rich, flavorful curry.
Sautéed Greens
Fresh greens (like spinach or red amaranth), washed and chopped
Chopped onion, garlic, and a pinch of salt
Fried in minimal oil until soft and aromatic
Fried Dry Red Chilies
Simply dry-fried red chilies in oil
Perfect for pairing with the greens and rice
Served everything hot with white rice—each item complementing the other beautifully. The spicy curry, fluffy omelette, earthy greens, and that smoky dry chili made it a complete soul-satisfying meal.
Even when you're alone, cooking a meal for yourself can be a peaceful and fulfilling experience. Today’s lunch reminded me of the comfort of homemade food and the joy of simplicity.
