Hi there. In this short travel post, our travel group try out Shaxian Snacks restaurant in Meizhou, China.
Shaxian Snacks
Our travel group is not too familiar with Meizhou, China. When it comes to meal options we were pretty open to different places. This Shaxian Snacks place looked inviting enough for us to give it a try.
Little did we know at the time that Shaxian Snacks is a famous franchise in China. It specializes in small, simple and low-priced dishes. You can get wonton dumplings, noodle soups, tofu balls, salted duck and rice plates. Shaxian Snacks is supposedly more visible than McDonalds, KFC, Pizza Hut and Burger King in China.
Food Pictures
The dishes we ordered were nothing too crazy. We got fried rice, a noodle soup bowl and chicken drumstick (or is it duck leg, I forget).
In the one image with the soup that is fried wonton with fish paste filling inside. We saw two guys having two plates of that. I thought to myself that is a lot. After trying it out we knew why they order two plates of it. The fried wonton dumplings were pretty good.
Closing Notes
This Shaxian Snacks place has nice dishes and food at super affordable prices. You can get a meal in the form of a noodle soup or rice plate for less than 10 CAD. A ten CAD meal is possible in downtown Toronto but somewhat rare.
Considering currency conversions from CAD, USD or EUR to Chinese Yuan your purchasing power is pretty good in Meizhou, China. Eat like a king here without hurting the wallet.
