Street food in Islamabad

in Cross Culture2 days ago

I'm back in Islamabad for my studies, and the city has a lot to offer. On one hand, it's so rich with variable and expensive things, but on the other hand, there are people who can barely afford to sustain their lives.

I want to share with you a story about a biryani seller outside the library where I study. I see a lot of lower-middle-class people sitting here and enjoying his biryani. What's unique about him is that he doesn't have a fancy setup – no glass stall or dining area. He's the only one selling food in the afternoon, and even I eat here sometimes.

One thing that bothers me is that he doesn't have a sitting area, so we have to either sit on the road or stand and enjoy our biryani. Despite that, I really like his biryani because it's homemade and has a unique flavor that's different from hotel food. The taste is so organic and reminds me of home.

However, I do have some concerns. Since the food is openly kept on the road, it can be contaminated easily. I think it would be better if it were placed somewhere hidden. Additionally, considering how many people come here to enjoy his food, I think he should provide a dining area.

Anyways, I hope you liked the blog. I'll keep posting updates about my stay in Islamabad. I'd love to hear from you all about what you think. Have a nice day, and I'll see you in the next blog!
