Hi vegan lovers, today I will show you one of the traditional recipes made from sago pearls. This cake is processed into a very beautiful dish and also has a unique taste. You will find this cake in many local markets in our area.




Sweet Pretty Cake

Pretty sweet cake is one of the traditional cake snacks originating from the island of Java. This cake is made from hunkwe flour with a blend of sago pearls, at first glance very similar to pudding. As the name implies, cantik manis cake is unique, beautiful and does taste sweet. Now for those of you who don't know what hunkwe flour is, hunkwe flour is flour from mung bean starch, this flour in our area is known as jali-jali flour. The flour is very soft so that it is processed into any dish is very delicious.




Ingredients Used

1 piece hunkwe flour
50 grams pearl sago
200 ml coconut milk
5 tablespoons sugar
½ teaspoon salt
¼ teaspoon vanilla
To taste dragon fruit peel




Making Procedure


Boil pearl sago with dragon fruit skin until fluffy.

After it expands, prepare coconut milk, add sugar and salt and vanilla.

Add hunkwe flour, then cook the coconut milk until it boils and thickens.

Then add the sago pearls and stir, then print in a mold or can be put in plastic packaging.

The pretty sweet cake is ready to be served, some I added coconut milk fla on top. Uhh this is a very perfect combination, plus there is a soft hunkwe texture that really makes this cake very delicious.

Well if you enjoy it in cold conditions it is also very tasty. In fact, I usually keep it in ice until it becomes frozen and then I enjoy it. The flavor is perfect like enjoying ice cream but this is the solid version.

This cake has a sweet taste, but it all depends on your taste if you don't want it too sweet you just need to reduce the sugar composition. Now in this one recipe I produce about 8 pcs of cake. But this is a pretty big print, you just need to adjust it as needed.
