Making Onion Fried Sweet Potatoes
Crispy fried sweet potatoes with a blend of red onion chunks are very delicious to enjoy while relaxing. My mother is a simple person, and almost never snacks outside so authentic snacks like this are very often prepared at home. This is probably due to her childhood living in the countryside and my grandmother's preparation of snacks from natural ingredients at home. Of course this will be very delicious, and make you nostalgic for a simple recipe in the form of sweet potato fritters. So, let's prepare it step by step below.
Sweet potato fritters ingredients
100 grams of wheat flour
1 tablespoon cornstarch
½ onion
1 teaspoon salt
Steps to Make
Combine flour, cornstarch and salt in a larger container.
Chop the onion finely, so that when fried it is more crispy, mix it into the flour that has been prepared.
Then add enough water while stirring with medium consistency, set aside first.
Then prepare the sweet potato, wash it thoroughly and cut it into ½ cm thick, or according to your taste. I prefer a little thin so that when fried it cooks quickly.
When it's time to fry, dip the sweet potato pieces then fry them in hot oil until brownish yellow.
Making Sauce
Well fried foods in my area are usually enjoyed with spicy and sweet soy sauce, so preparing soy sauce when enjoying crispy fried foods like this is a must-have menu. So let's take a look below.
Sauce ingredients
2 shallot cloves
1 clove of garlic
4 pieces of cayenne pepper
Steps to Make Sauce
Blend the spices coarsely, then add margarine, add the spices that have been pureed.
Cook until wilted and add enough water, then add sweet soy sauce and stir.
Cook over low heat until the water shrinks and thickens slightly, don't forget to season with ¼ salt.
Serving Suggestion
Serve on a serving plate the crispy sweet potato fritters that are ready to be fried then as a complement prepare the sauce as a delicious dipping sauce for the fritters. The fritters are perfectly cooked outside the crispy onion aroma is quite fragrant.
