Beans and plantain porridge: I cooked it with firewood and it was fun.

in Plant Power (Vegan)yesterday

‎Do you know how to prepare porridge beans and plantain? Whether your answer is no or yes, check out how I prepared mine. To start with, let me display all the ingredients I used in preparing the meal.

‎- 4 cups of beans
‎- 20 fresh peppers(or to taste)
‎- 6 fingers of medium size plantain
‎- quarter spoon of cinnamon powder
‎- 3 minor bulbs of onion
‎- **salt (to taste)
‎- Water
‎- 1 tomato tin of red oil

‎## Preparation procedure

‎First and foremost, I peeled off the coat of the plantain.

‎Next, I washed them with running water so as to remove the presence of sand if there is any.

‎Done, I sliced the flesh of the plantain into small cubes. (You can chose to slice or cut into any form base in your taste) After slicing, I kept it aside.

‎I then peeled off the coat of the onions, washed and sliced.

‎I also washed the pepper. After washing, I manually ground it with pestle and mortar. I am the type that dislikes seeing pieces of onions in my food. Therefore, I pounded it together with the pepper too.

‎My next action was to pour the beans inside a bowl, added about 3 cups of water and then start separating the chaff from the beans. I Like this style because it makes the work easier for me. Why not try it out?

‎> All my aim was to cook the food with gas cooker. But unfortunately for me, I couldn't. But why? My family members that came home for a holiday insisted that I cook the food with firewood, because, it's been long they ate food prepared with firewood. According to them, they have not forgotten how our family started. Seeing how curious they are to eat food prepared with firewood, I had no other option rather than to concur.

‎## Cooking Procedures

‎- (1) I poured the beans inside pot and added 3 cups of water. Then set it on fire.

‎- (2) I allowed it to boil for 15 minutes

‎- (3) I brought it down and then sieve and wash it.

‎- (4) Next, I poured it back inside the pot. I added 3 cups of water into it.

‎- (5) I allowed it to boil until tender. I like eating soft beans. So I allowed it to soften to my taste.

‎- (6) Then, I poured the already sliced plantain inside the pot of beans.

‎- (7) As the fire 🔥 is high, just 10 minutes later, the plantain is already soft. I then added the grounded paste of onions and pepper, cinnamon powder and red oil. Then, I covered the pot for like 4 minutes. You may wonder why I have not add salt to the food, the truth is that if I should add it on time, the plantain will and cannot be as soft as I wish. Let salt be the last.

‎- (8) I then added salt (to taste). Immediately, I stirred the food, had a taste of it to check if the taste has rhythm with all the ingredients.

‎- (9) I then brought it down. Food is ready!!! 😄
