I do have sweet memories with my mother

Stimulating the appetite...I guess that's good for people who are ill. It's my experience around here appetites are over stimulated :)) It seems the abundance of food is contrary to the whole of human history when food was scarce and we had to struggle to consume enough calories. Our bodies are engineered to eat, to store up fat against hard times. Those hard times don't come for most in my country (not all!!) and so many are left with stored up fat.
When I was a child and food was scarce my mother used to cook up spaghetti until it was so soft it would seem to be a lot and would fill our stomachs momentarily. She had many tricks for filling our bellies, but that one I remember clearly, and poignantly.
