One of the best things about this trip was that during it, I had the opportunity to meet a lot of amazing people. The experience of working and living in a hostel during the summer season brought me some new friends, with whom we still keep in touch to this day. Many of them had the same idea as me, working at the same time as they toured the surroundings of El Bolsón. Together we created a good work group, with which we liked to spend a lot of time together, eating and drinking a lot of wine at night 😅.
Una de las mejores cosas de este viaje fue que durante él, tuve la oportunidad de conocer a un montón de personas increíbles. La experiencia de trabajar y vivir en un hostel durante la temporada de verano me trajo algunos amigos nuevos, con los cuales hasta el día de hoy seguimos en contacto. Muchos de ellos estaban con la misma idea que yo, trabajando al mismo tiempo que recorrían los alrededores de El Bolsón. Juntos creamos un buen grupo de trabajo, con el cuál nos gustaba pasar mucho tiempo reunidos, comiendo y bebiendo bastante vino en las noches 😅.
During my stay in El Bolsón I did a lot of physical activity, visiting all those shelters and trails in the mountains. My physical condition was quite good and I began to eat better, although I never refused to eat or drink what I wanted. I am aware that well-being, in addition to being physical, is emotional, so I never refused to do anything I liked ❤️.
Durante mi estancia en El Bolsón hice un montón de actividad física, recorriendo todos esos refugios y senderos en las montañas. Mi estado físico era bastante bueno y empecé a comer mejor, aunque nunca me negué a comer o tomar lo que quería. Soy consciente de que el bienestar además de físico es emocional, así que nunca me negué a hacer cualquier cosa que me gustara ❤️.
Participating in the great dinners that we organized with my hostel colleagues and other potential guests were one of the most fun things we did. When night was approaching, we would agree to decide what to have for dinner, and there was always someone in charge of shopping and then cooking for the entire group, which was never less than 8 people. I must say that I almost always managed to get away with this task because there were other people who enjoyed cooking more than me 😅.
Participar de las grandes cenas que organizabamos con mis compañeros del hostel y otros eventuales huéspedes eran una de las cosas más divertidas que hacíamos. Cuando se estaba acercando la noche, nos poníamos de acuerdo para decidir qué cenar, y siempre había un encargado de hacer las compras y luego cocinar para todo el grupo, que nunca era de menos de 8 personas. Debo decir que yo casi siempre lograba zafar de esta tarea porque había otras personas que difrutaban más de la cocina que yo 😅.
But one of the nights one of my colleagues exposed my attitude so everyone almost forced me to take charge of dinner. For my good luck, that day was the 29th, which by tradition, the famous gnocchi is usually eaten. Making gnocchi takes a lot of work even if it is a small quantity, but imagine having to prepare it for a group of 12 people. That day I felt like I was paying for all the other nights when I hadn't cooked anything 😅.
Pero una de las noches uno de mis compañeros puso en evidencia mi actitud así que todos casi que me obligaron a que me encargara de la cena. Para mi buena suerte, ese día era un 29, el cuál por tradición, se suelen comer los famosos ñoquis. Hace ñoquis lleva un montón de trabajo aunque sea poca cantidad, pero imaginénse tener que prepararlos para un grupo de 12 personas. Ese día sentí que estaba pagando por todas las otras noches en las que no había cocinado nada 😅.
According to our dynamic, I had to take care of going to buy what I needed to cook and then get to work. I had made gnocchi before, but never for so many people. I bought 6 kg of potatoes to make the mash, with which I prepared the large dough using flour, eggs and salt. By the time I was finishing giving the small shape to each gnooqui, about three hours had already passed, so I had to ask someone else to make the sauce because I was already tired 😂.
De acuerdo a nuestra dinámica, tuve que encargarme de ir a comprar lo necesario para cocinar y luego poner manos a la obra. Yo ya había hecho ñoquis antes, pero nunca para tantas personas. Compré 6 kg de papa para hacer el puré, con la que preparé la gran masa usando harina, huevos y sal. Para cuando estaba terminando de darle la pequeña forma a cada ñoqui ya habían pasado unas tres horas, por lo que tuve que solicitar que alguien más hiciera la salsa porque ya estaba cansada 😂.
I don't know if delegating the task of making the sauce was a good idea, because the guest who was in charge of making it made it too spicy. It was so spicy that fire came out of our mouths, but no one wanted to stop eating anyway. It's not because they were my gnocchi, but they turned out excellent. And although at first the fountain seemed exaggeratedly large, there was nothing left over 😂.
No sé si delegar la tarea de hacer la salsa fue una buena idea, porque el huésped que se encargó de prepararla la hizo demasiado picante. Tan picante estaba que nos salia fuego por la boca, pero igual nadie quería dejar de comer. No es porque hayan sido mis ñoquis, pero me quedaron excelentes. Y aunque al principio la fuente parecía exageradamente grande, no sobró nada 😂.
The good thing about making these massive meals is that with little money each, we could make a delicious meal. It was also a way to save, since it is generally cheaper to cook for many and spread the expenses, than to have to cook for just one. In total, to make these gnocchi with sauce and wine included, I spent about $20, which divided among 12 people resulted in almost $1.7 each. Really affordable and for a plate of a good dinner 😃.
Lo bueno de hacer estas comidas masivas es que con poco dinero cada uno, podíamos hacer una comida deliciosa. También era una forma de ahorrar, ya que generalmente es más barato cocinar para muchos y repartir los gastos, que tener que cocinar para uno solo. En total, para hacer estos ñoquis con salsa y vino incluído, gasté unos $20, que repartidos entre 12 personas resulto en casi $1.7 cada uno. Realmente económico y por un plato de una buena cena 😃.

The nights at the El Bolsón hostel were always fun. I quite like interacting with people who are traveling because they always have good stories to tell. Now, one of them would be these dinners that we share together. Luckily, I made up for everything I ate with long walks the next day, with the excuse that I needed to recharge. I have no excuse for drinking a lot of wine 😅.
Las noches en el hostel de El Bolsón siempre fueron divertidas. Me gusta bastante relacionarme con gente que esta de viaje porque siempre tienen buenas anécdotas para contar. Ahora, una de ellas sería estas cenas que compartimos juntos. Por suerte, todo lo que comía lo compensaba con largas caminatas al día siguiente, con la excusa de que necesitaba recargar energía. Para el hecho de beber bastante vino, no tengo ninguna excusa 😅.
