Couldn’t agree with you more. I have several travel mugs that I use every day, and on top of the environmental reasons I have saved hundreds, if not thousands of dollars by doing so. If I get coffee from a business that’s main business is not coffee; well half the time they just give it to me for free.

As someone who has worked in dozens of kitchens as well, the argument they also commonly present as “time consuming” is complete horse shit. A rack of mugs takes a couple minutes to wash. In the time the dishwasher has finished its cycle, you have more than enough time to prepare an entire other rack, if not several. It just boils down to “we don’t care”
