This is my cousin's favorite "Sweet Bread Recipe" that his wife made weekly for him. I have no idea where it originated from but she shared it with me over 30 years ago.

This week was the anniversary of her passing in 2008 and every year I make it in honor of her memory. Today, I will share it with all my Hivean friends.

Sweet Bread

Yields 4 loaves / Bake at 350°F for 25-30 minutes

4 cups warm water
2 Tablespoons yeast
1 1/4 cups of sugar
10 cups of flour

Add the yeast and 2 tablespoons of sugar to the warm water. Let the yeast proof for 10 minutes until foamy.

Thoroughly mix the rest of the sugar, flour, and yeast in a mixer or my hand until a firm ball forms.

Place in an oiled bowl and cover with plastic wrap. Set aside to rise until doubled in size.

Punch the dough down to remove any air bubbles.

Divide the dough evenly into 4 sections. Roll the dough into the shape of the loaf pan.

Cover and let rise until it doubles again in size.

If desired you can brush the top of the bread with some butter, oh yeah!

This simple bread recipe is perfect for sandwiches or toast in the morning. It has just enough sweetness to make your taste buds dance.

I would like to try a piece of bread like the one you present us today, although I still like to cook the dough and the bread does not turn out the way my mom makes it for me no matter how much she explains it to me over and over again.

Oh, that is a shame it does not come out right. You should keep trying and one day you will make the perfect loaf of bread.

This is a very nice tribute to remember someone, honoring their memory with those creations that are so closely related to them. It is a beautiful thing on your side.

I particularly love to see when breads are made from scratch, the process of fermentation of the dough is something magnificent, it seems surreal. Plus, you make it look so easy to be able to do it. The photos look very appetizing too, I hope you enjoyed it very much.

Thank you very much, I love making the bread in my cousin's honor and yes, it was very good. Now my husband requested more. ♥

It looks delicious, if I were him, I would also be asking for it hahaha.

Hi @sunscape welcome to creative cuisine 😊, the bread looks great, the high hydration dough is difficult to work by hand I think I would not dare to do this hahaha, I do not have a food processor, but I think I will make a variant to recreate your recipe, thanks for sharing with us.

Your breads are always very appetizing, I love them very much.

Thank you very much, @edwing357 I usually do this by hand the old-fashioned way; I find it very therapeutic and relaxing. lol

Hello friend 😊, this way is always better, the crumb is left with more love, I knead all the breads with love and I eat them with love and quite hungry hahaha.

I Love It!

Your bread looks divine !

I don't have much experience with making yeast breads, but I sure do love the way they taste.

You should try making yeast bread and perhaps sour dough bread too. They are not hard at all.

Oh, there is nothing like freshly baked bread! And home-made just tastes even better. Your instructions are clear, simple, and straight to the point! I have baked so many of these loaves in the bakery that I worked in many years ago. I might just bake a loaf again, as they make the best sandwiches (such as BLTs!). Thanks for the wonderful reminded to bake some bread.

Wow, that is awesome, now I wish I had some fresh tomatoes from the garden to make a BLT sandwich. I did enjoy a few this summer and now have to wait until next year's harvest. ;-)

Oh that would have been perfect, right? Few things are as good as fresh tomatoes, especially the homegrown ones!

Looks amazing my dear friend and it also reminds me that it's been ages since I baked something.

@erikah, perhaps that is your clue to get to baking! Just saying, that I'm always in the kitchen doing something. At my age pushing 70 it is what I love to do.

Yummy bread! Nice and crisp with lovely fresh aroma.

I have a slice waiting for you when you stop by for a visit. Perhaps we can enjoy a slice in the ethers/dream-state together. ♥

Thank you very much. That’s very of you. I would need one extra slice to take home to share with my orange cats! They like home made bread a lot! 😂
