From Buldak Cravings to Burritos and Beer

How are you all?

How's your weekend?

Mine is nothing but an ordinary day.

Yesterday, I went home at 7 a.m. because I was back on the night shift again. I planned to go out, but I ended up sleeping the entire day.

I woke up at 8:30 p.m. and planned to stay home and have some food delivered for dinner. I was craving cheesy Buldak with kimchi and sausage, but the shop where I usually order couldn’t be reached on Messenger. Then I remembered there was a Korean store nearby, so I decided to walk there and dine in instead.

Before I even reached the store, I passed by a dried squid vendor. I’ve seen a lot of reels about it and had wanted to try it for quite some time. Since I still had time, I stopped by and bought two pieces for only 20 pesos each. It was satisfying, especially with the onions on top.

After that, I continued walking to the Korean store. Unfortunately, it wasn’t what I expected.

They were missing some of the basic items I was looking for, and their noodle selection was very limited. They didn’t even have the mild Buldak I was craving. Disappointed, I left and looked for something else to eat.

As I walked, I passed by an American man selling tacos, burritos, and quesadillas. I’ve seen him trending on social media before. Fortunately, there was only a one customer waiting that time, so I decided to try his food. He was friendly and kept talking to me, but I felt a little uncomfortable when he started asking personal questions and telling me where he lived. I know he was probably just trying to entertain his customers, but it was a bit too much for me. So I waited a little farther away while my food was being prepared.

After almost 20 minutes, I finally got my burrito and quesadilla.

I then stopped by Lawson and wanted to get a bottle of vodka to go with my food, but there were too many choices.
I ended up getting an apple flavored beer instead.

I ate the burrito as soon as I got home, and it paired well with the beer.

Since I slept the whole day, I still couldn’t fall asleep. Later, my little sister messaged us saying she was on her way home from work, so I asked her to buy me a bottle of vodka.

I don’t know why, but all the alcoholic drinks I had that night tasted surprisingly sweet, almost like soft drinks. It had been a long time since I last had any alcohol, and it barely had any effect on me.

After finishing the bottle of vodka, I finally drifted back to sleep.

You drank the whole bottle of vodka? 😵‍💫

Yeah, I guess I got a little carried away 😅
