I'm the type of guy who used to have foodstuff at home but during the festive period last year, I had a lot of visitors who consumed a lot of my food, so because of this, my foodstuff was depleted a lot, and I did not have much after the festive. It was over this January, and I realized that I had to refill all my stuff that was depleted. I've been making plans for a while because I don't have enough cash. I could not do much, but I received some cash today, so I decided to visit the market. To stack up my foodstuff, and just like every other day, the market was bustling.
Being a bachelor in Nigeria can be quite an experience when you head to the market to purchase basic items like foodstuff. Some vendors assume that you're stingy just because you're unmarried and shopping on your own. To avoid such assumptions, people often send their sisters or girlfriends to do the shopping. However, I prefer to purchase my foodstuffs myself, and over time, I have gained a lot of loyal customers in the market. Initially, I had trouble with vendors overcharging me, but I've learned how to navigate the market and identify good quality produce at a fair price.
The price of foodstuffs has skyrocketed and the country is getting more difficult day by day.
Before I left home, I had already made up my mind, I knew I wouldn't meet the price the same way I left them just because of the country's situation, and the dollar was up against the Naira, and when I got to the market, I was not surprised by the price. Everything is now expensive, just that I have to spend twice of what I used to spend before to stack up my foodstuff. the last time I went to the market, I spent 40,000 Naira to buy foodstuffs and this might sound small, but I'm the only one staying at home, so I don't need much, but this time, I spent more than double because today, I spent close to 85,000 Naira. Even when converting it to dollars is not much, it's still a lot of money in the country.

Food plays a crucial role in our lives, but the current situation has made it difficult for people to consume it as they used to. Due to the ongoing hardship, individuals are unable to buy food unnecessarily. This is why market vendors are experiencing a decrease in sales. Despite this, I had a good day and wanted to share my observations of the market with you.
The current administration is having a negative impact on the economy. If things continue in this direction, it might become difficult for marketers to sell their products because they will be too expensive for the average person. Ideally, everything would be released as quickly as possible to address this issue. Thank you for having me today.
