Switching to eco friendly packaging

in LeoFinance4 days ago

I'm glad to see many companies understanding the harmful effects of Plastic poisoning. Many have already switched to eco-friendly packaging. In some nearby cloth stores and supermarkets, they have stopped providing plastic covers and instead switched to either paper bags or cloth bags. Some shops have already started exploring eco-friendly plastics that mimic plastics, but they are not made from real plastics. This is already a great revolutionary change.

We need this in the food industry

Today, even though we have good packaging alternatives available in the food industry, some people still rely on plastic packaging because they are sturdy and good to carry. The only problem is that if they go to the landfills, they don't break down to bio waste, but instead they break down to microplastics and harm the environment. This is the most dangerous thing today because many places across the world is contaminated with this, and we are losing many bio species because of this pollution.

Today the scientists even find microplastics in the plant body and in the human body. We have gone to an extent where even Semen samples from human beings contain microplastics. This is why it is very dangerous, and a study has found that when we eat food in plastic packaging material, we not only eat the food but also the microplastics along with that. Many ignorant people think about BPA-free plastics or food-grade plastics alone, but overall, using plastic itself is creating a lot of problems. Tupperware used to be one of the biggest companies that severed humanity for lunch box or other food containers. But people have now switched or have been switching to metal containers as they are safe and better compared to plastics.

People should take the lead

I think the government can easily do this by increasing the tax on the non-biodegradable packing items and this way it obviously becomes very costly to sell, and people might go for the better eco alternative. But some governments are considering this, and it still needs mass adoption. But I think every individual should take a lead on this, where they try and use eco-friendly packaging material as much as possible. For certain things, it is unavoidable to use plastics, but at least wherever it is possible, they should be adopted.

Awareness is being created among people, and many have changed the way they sell products. In some garment stores, they charge a little extra for carry bags, and they give eco-friendly carry bags. People are either ready to pay extra and take the bag, or they bring their own bags. This is a good transition that we should expect everywhere.

The problem is, now we highly pay the bio degradable bags when plastic bags used to be free...

Biodegradable bags (paper bags) used to be free. We're getting robbed.

Yep, same here, paper bags were free, now pay for them...

I used to scoff at things like this, but in my old age, I'm getting worried about things like microplastics.

Small changes by individuals, businesses, and governments can significantly protect our environment and health. Awareness and proactive choices are the way forward for a sustainable future.

The problem is that the corporations and governments are actively working to kill us.

The challenge is the biodegradable bags and material are so expensive

Sometimes I actually use to wonder how will this be sustained for so long
