One of my regular spots on the map is located in northern Spain, in a town called Avilés. There is a large glass factory and I sometimes I come here for loadings or unloadings.
On this particular day I arrived in the afternoon but my loading was scheduled for the next morning. So I had some free time for me and to my great luck, the factory is located very close to the beach! 😀
I found a parking spot in the industrial zone, parked my truck and headed towards the coastline just in time for sunset to catch some nice frames....
The weather, however, wasn’t exactly ideal. It was early autumn already and there had been quite a bit of rain during the day. And as I’ve learned over time northern Spain isn't nearly as sunny as the south. While many people imagine Spain as a land of constant sunshine, the northern coast often tells a different story – one of cloudy skies, wind and unpredictable rain.
Still I managed to capture a few moments I really liked. There was something calming about the moody atmosphere and the sound of waves at the end of a long day.
I would like to return to this place someday with more time on my hands. There are coastal trails starting right at the beach and they lead to nearby villages. It seems like the perfect area for a longer walk and a peaceful break from the road.
Jedno z moich regularnych miejsc na mapie znajduje się w północnej Hiszpanii, w miejscowości Avilés. Jest tam duża huta szkła i czasami przyjeżdżam tu na załadunek albo rozładunek.
Tym razem dotarłam na miejsce po południu ale załadunek miałam dopiero następnego dnia rano. Tak więc miałam trochę czasu dla siebie – a na moje wielkie szczęście huta znajduje się bardzo blisko plaży! 😀
Znalazłam więc miejsce parkingowe w strefie przemysłowej, zaparkowałam ciężarówkę i ruszyłam w stronę wybrzeża – idealnie na zachód słońca, żeby złapać kilka ładnych kadrów...
Pogoda jednak nie była zbyt łaskawa. Była już wczesna jesień i przez większą część dnia padało. I jak się już wcześniej nauczyłam, północna Hiszpania nie jest aż tak słoneczna jak południe. Choć wielu osobom Hiszpania kojarzy się z nieustannym słońcem, północne wybrzeże często opowiada inną historię – taką o pochmurnym niebie, wietrze i kapryśnym deszczu.
Mimo to udało mi się uchwycić kilka momentów, które naprawdę polubiłam. Było coś kojącego w tej pochmurnej atmosferze i szumie fal po długim dniu w trasie.
Chciałabym kiedyś wrócić w to miejsce, mając więcej czasu. Tuż przy samej plaży zaczynają się szlaki, którymi można dojść do pobliskich miejscowości. Wydaje się to być idealne miejsce na dłuższy spacer i spokojną przerwę od drogi.
