'Irrawaddy' is now only about rivers, and also a way of life in the past. What's with rivers? Why are they so essential for humans? Because flowing water provides transportation, irrigation, and also supports the needs of fish and algae for food.
Througout Myanmar region north to south, there is a long river that's the center of civilization. Called - Irrawaddy River -, and it even stretches all the way to Bangladesh. You know, I am so lucky to see the Irrawaddy River, right around the corner from Bagan City.

In the morning, and I was eager to head to the famous Irrawaddy River. Right beside the river is so famous, this is the temple that serve as a place of entertainment for the people in Bagan. I also see that the river seemed to be receding, and some people were crossing it in small boats.
The river is so wide, and the boats looking very small against the wide riverbank. I am talking to one of the locals, he say that the edge of the riverbank has become unsafe for anyone, so don't even dare cross without permission. Anyone will be considered a rebel, an intruder, or an opponent of the regime. It's truly terrifying, but nothing to be afraid of if you can truly obey the rules.

Yes, I just looked around the temple, called Shwe Kun Cha Hpaya. Enter by removing all footwear without exception and passing through the door with a statue of an animal that resembles a dog, but is also half god and half dragon. That's Yali. You can find a lot of related information online.
So, this temple is a place to watch the sunset in the evening just because at the end there's a beautiful, serene view that shouldn't be miss. It's famous for its beautiful, calming views. It's also called the Temple of a Million Serenities in Bagan.

But, I am not lucky today, because I decide to come in the morning. Honestly, the evenings in Bagan are sooo beautiful, but I get a little scare and a little creepy out. By 4:00 PM, I always decide to head hotel for fear of the sky getting dark and lose my bearings. Electricity is scarce and limit here, but if you're brave enough, go for it. You won't regret it.
That said, even though it's still early and crowd, the temple is surprisingly quiet and it's a pleasure to see everything here.
