The Location of The Place:
The exact location of Sitio Pastohan and Bandera Mountains is located at the middle mountainous part of Barangay Poblacion Manticao, Misamis Oriental. From The Main road, it needs to travel a few hours riding on a motorcycle or any light vehicles. The fair costs up to 20 Pesos per person and it needs to walk a few kilometers away from the road. This mountainous areas also served as a boundary point between two Barangays and two Municipalities: The Barangay Poblacion and Barangay Paniangan, and The Municipality of Naawan and Manticao both in the Province of Misamis Oriental.
A Mountains Compost with Solid Silica Rocks:
Most of the mountains here are made of solid silica rocks and only few portion of place contains soil on it. Thats the reason why only few agricultural plants can grown here. Coconut cannot grown or planted here because it only contains a small portion of soil. This class C Silica stones are deposited here and most of the mountains are made of solid stones. Most of the road trails here are also at the top surfaces of the silica stones and it will be more challenging by stepping on it to avoid slippery.
The Neighboring Mountains:
From the top of the Mountain and hills lies this Overlooking views of the nearby mountains. This is what we called by Mountain ranges because Sitio Pastohan and Bandera are also surrounded with lots of Neighboring Mountains from nearby places. This Mountains gives a great contribution to all villagers who lives at the plain parts of the place and shieldes them from strong winds because of the Mountains everytime when there is a typhoon. Aside of that, it is still covered with lots of trees and wild grass that can make those mountains attractiveness.
Thick Wild Grass:
The reason why the place is perfect for farm animals its because of this wild grows at the top of the Mountain. According to the old villagers here, there are almost 50 Cows, Goats and other farm raising animals put here that is why native people called this place Pastohan which means a Ranch. All mountains and hills are covered with this kind of grass, but the place was totally abandoned as the Native people left and went to other side of the Mountain.
The Majestic Bandera Mountains:
Bandera is divided into Four small hills but at the top of the majestic mountain. Each hills holds different land owners and covered with cogon grass. The place is one of the best site for biking and moto trails because of the stippness of the road trails. From Sitio Pastohan, it needs to travel a few Kilometers away before reaching Bandera mountain and passing by a dry stream and thick bushes.
A Historical Place:
If we talked about historical events here, there are some portion of the place where Native leaders lives. Here in this open field areas at the hill, there was once a chieftain lives here and as a supporting evidence on how true the story is, there are few old ceramic, porcelain and potteries found here. Now, it is totally covered with grass and few trees are already grows at the place.
An Old Road Trail Leading to The River:
This old road trail leads to the river and there are few people passing by here. This very old road trail is compost with solid silica rocks and few grasses. Bikers and motoracers also went here for adventure and aside of that a perfect place for camping and picnic trips. Visiting this place is truly adventurous because of its overlooking views.
