Hello, my lovely @bayanihive community!
Today, After morning coffee, I thought of making salad to start a healthy day. And now, I’m happy to share my story about one of our favorite backyard treasures, the edible fern.

Here in our place, edible ferns grow naturally around the shared and damp parts of our backyard. Some people might think they’re just ordinary wild plants. But for us, they’re a true blessing. This fern is not only edible but also delicious, healthy and completely organic, no pesticides or fertilizers at all. It simply grows on its own, nourished by rain and the clean air of our surroundings.

Every morning after my night shift, I step into our backyard to gather a few stalks of this beautiful fern. I love eating vegetables early in the morning, it makes me feel refreshed and energized after a long night of work. While sipping my coffee, I loo at the greenery and feel grateful for having such natural food right at home.

Once I’ve harvested enough, I prepare it as a simple salad, blanched fern mixed with tomatoes, onions and salted egg, then topped with a bit of bagoong for that perfect balance of flavor. The taste is earthy, light and satisfying. It’s a local favorite her, especially during breakfast or lunch. 🌿

What amazes me most is how this plant thrives naturally without much care. It reminds me that nature always provides, even in small and simple ways. The edible fern is proof that good food doesn’t have to come from the market, sometimes it grows quietly right behind our home. When we harvest a lot, we sell them, our best seller. 💚

The joy of harvesting and preparing this fern connects me to my roots, my family and the simple life we have. Truly, this season’s best thing in our garden is our thriving edible fern – fresh, pure and full of life. Let’s enjoy fresh edible ferns! Taste nature’s goodness and try some for yourself – healthy, delicious and straight from our garden.

I never tried this fern salad, but It looks yummy and healthy. We have many ferns in the province and we do not know it can be eaten.
