The first thing that caught my attention wasn't the aroma. It was the abundance.
Rows of grilled fish, sizzling meat, and steaming pots stood before me like a feast prepared for a crowd. Yet there I was, alone, holding a plate and trying to decide what deserved a place on it.
Funny how life works.
Sometimes we stand before a buffet of opportunities, dreams, friendships, and choices. Everything looks appealing. Everything seems important. But no matter how much is available, we can only choose so much.
I watched people point at different trays. Some wanted fish. Others wanted meat. Everyone had their preferences. Everyone had their reasons.
For me, the challenge wasn't finding food.
It was deciding when enough was enough.
A buffet for one is not really about eating. It's about knowing what satisfies you. It's about resisting the urge to take everything simply because it is available.
In a world that constantly tells us to want more, there is something peaceful about choosing only what we need.
As I filled my plate, I realized that contentment is a rare ingredient. You won't find it in any tray. You have to bring it with you.
The buffet was for one.
But the lesson was for a lifetime.
