When it comes to cook some instant breakfast, people always look out for instant noodles. Maggi being one of the foremost name to cross everyone mind But there is one more option which is very popular among Indian household. The so called Poha is a quick recipe ideal for healthy breakfast.

Don't look out at the texture of this dish, but it actually one of the simplest food item one can either prepare in breakfast or at evening snacks. Poha is popular because it's a quick, easy-to-prepare, versatile, and nutritious breakfast option. It is filled up with essential nutrients like iron and fiber, making it a great choice for a light meal while being readily available and affordable. The interesting part is that, it can be flavored with various spices, herbs, vegetables, and toppings to suit different tastes. In my case I made use of

  • 200 gram of Flattened rice
  • 1 small tomatoes
  • 1 small onion
  • slices of potatoes
  • 1/2 cup peas
  • 1/2 Capsicum
  • Salt and spices as per taste.

The dish requires minimal preparation time and can be ready in minutes, making it ideal for busy mornings. The main item includes in the dish is the flattened rice. The flattened rice flakes are easily broken down by the body, providing a quick energy boost. Since it's made from rice, poha is naturally gluten-free. To cook the recipe I chopped the available veggies into small pieces.

Using a frying pan and some cooking oil, I fried all the item and added some of the spices. I made a thick gravy by adfing water to it.

Meanwhile, I soaked the Flattened rice into water. Flattened rice are generally dry and crunchy, once it is soaked into water, it get very soft which helps in chewing and easy digestion.

Make sure not to soak it for longer duration. This is what I missed and spoiled the final texture. I added the soaked poha into the frying pan and mix them properly. We keep stirring it to mix all the vegetable. We will add salt to taste and sugar as per preference.

Our nutritious breakfast is ready to be served. I sprinkled fresh lemon juice before serving and also added roasted peanuts and some crispy snacks for added flavor.

Poha is a staple breakfast dish in many parts of India, particularly in the western region, with deep cultural roots. But it becomes popular across the nation because of its easiness and various nutritious benefit.

Cooking is an Art!

Of all the ingredients, it is only Flattened rice that is not available in my locality. Can I proceed to try with with regular rice grains.
