Hello friends!
Today, I'd like to share with you a busy and exciting afternoon
This afternoon, I drove to the cafe as usual, but upon arriving, I faced an even more challenging task than usual. My husband had a guest over for business, so I had to take on the role of temporary barista, making my own cup of his favorite coffee. I usually drink black coffee, but seeing the coffee machine made me want to try something new.
Today, I decided to make myself a hot cappuccino for the first time! I started by brewing the right amount of coffee, then the most exciting step: frothing the milk. I'd seen my husband do it so often, so I tried it myself. I started by carefully dipping the frother into the milk jug and then slowly pulling it up and down. But the result wasn't as easy as I thought!
In the end, the milk foam didn't turn out as beautifully as my husband's, so I decided to use a spoon to scoop the milk foam and pour it over the coffee. Seeing the messy look, I had to figure out how to fix it! I sprinkled some chocolate powder on top to cover up the mistake, and the result was a cappuccino with a cute, slightly bewildering appearance. But this is a source of pride for this new barista!
If you have any good techniques for frothing milk at home, please share them with us. Next time, I'll be able to make it work
And this is what my coffee looks like, my drink of the afternoon.
The taste is okay, but the appearance needs improvement, haha.
I'm currently trying to make coffee with my husband and various other drinks. This coffee is sweetened with the syrup I added, and it has a rich coffee aroma. The rich flavor makes this coffee taste great. Oh, I forgot to mention that I added a little salt to enhance the flavor and make it more rounded.
After enjoying the delicious coffee, I'm done.
It's time to finish the job I left off yesterday: preparing the kitchen.
Chaos in the Cafe's Kitchen
My husband and I are filled with challenges and little joys. Even though we currently only operate a beverage area, the back of the shop is a beautiful chaos.
After handling customers at the front of the shop, it's time to clean up the kitchen. Today, my to-do list is long, from washing the dishes, spoons, and various kitchen utensils accumulated throughout the day to organizing the shelves, as the kitchen is cluttered with so much stuff from home.
Then, chaos ensued when I had to wash a mountain of dishes, but I couldn't find the dishwashing liquid! Suddenly, I remembered that I'd left my shopping bag containing dishwashing liquid, Scotch-Brite, and bathroom cleaner at the department store the day before. I had two shopping carts that day—one for me and one for my husband. The cart I'd left behind was my husband's, but the brakes had failed. I prayed the staff would retrieve it for me, hoping it wouldn't be lost.
But the solution needed to be immediate. I decided to drive out to the village store to buy some dishwashing liquid to solve the immediate problem. Then, I returned, thoroughly washing the dishes, and polishing the kitchen floor. Before I clean out and plug in the refrigerator to prepare for tomorrow,
I plan to go shopping tomorrow to stock up on fresh produce and prepare for the new menu items I'll be adding to the shop. And of course, I'll also go find some dishwashing liquid I forgot at the mall. After everything is ready in the kitchen, my final task of the day is to clean the bathrooms to ensure every corner of the cafe is clean and ready for every customer.
This is the life of a small shop owner. The joy isn't just in sales, but in seeing your shop grow little by little, despite the daily hustle and bustle.
The weather was absolutely uncooperative today. I was enjoying cleaning up the back of the shop and organizing the piled-up items, sweating profusely. But then, suddenly, the sky darkened and it started to rain heavily. I had to hurriedly run inside to escape the rain.
Even though I was able to get inside, today's mission wasn't quite complete. There was another important task ahead: organizing the customer bathrooms. As soon as my clothes started to dry, I quickly headed to the bathroom and started organizing everything. A small vase of flowers, which I decorated with my own hands, helped refresh and liven up the bathroom.
It was quite exhausting to finish organizing everything, but seeing the bathroom so clean and looking better than before made me feel all the less tired.
For today, I'm going to take a break, everyone. We'll see you again soon. Thank you for all your continued support and encouragement. 🙏🏻❤️😘
