RE: Canada Day Rib Cook Off

in Proof of Brain8 days ago

Wow, that's awesome. You know, I don't do it often, but I have gotten some pretty rave reviews for ribs cooked in the instant pot. You can take them from frozen and throw them in the pressure cooker and have them done in like 30 minutes, then you throw them on the grill to finish them off and give them a bit of a char and they end up being so tender and people love them. Nice job on the win!

I've never done ribs in a pressure cooker or crock pot but I know that a lot of people do. I don't own either device but I've been thinking about getting a crock pot.

Ribs in 30 minutes is wildly fast. Thats pretty awesome actually. Throwing them on the BBQ at the end - I bet no one can even tell that they were cooked in a pot.

You should look into the instant pot. You can use it about seven different ways including a pressure cooker and a slow cooker. It's so versatile. Between that and our air fryer they are the two most used appliances in our kitchen now. With the exception of the microwave, but I'm not sure that counts anymore :). BBQ purists would probably know the difference, but I think most common people like fall off the bone ribs which are technically over cooked according to the experts.

Yeah i really should look into the instapot. I like that its both appliances in one. I dont have an air fryer either lol
