El fin de semana pasado se llevó a cabo el Burgerfest 2026 en la ciudad de San Cristóbal, donde compitieron varios de los restaurantes de las inmediaciones a la capital tachirense, para saber quien tiene la mejor propuesta gastronómica en hamburguesas, y como ha sucedido en los años anteriores, no podia perdérmelo.
Last weekend, Burgerfest 2026 took place in the city of San Cristóbal, where several restaurants from the vicinity of the capital of Táchira competed to find out who has the best gastronomic proposal in hamburgers, and as has happened in previous years, I couldn't miss it.
Como el año pasado, también me acompañaron mi hermano y su novia, estando más preparados para esta edición, pues las hamburguesas las dividiamos entre los 3, para probar la mayor cantidad posible.
As last year, my brother and his girlfriend also accompanied me, being more prepared for this edition, since we divided the hamburgers between the 3 of us, to try as many as possible.
Había un espacio abierto y otro techado, pero por el sol tan intenso que hubo ese día, preferimos iniciar por el área techada, donde probamos la mayoría de hamburguesas que nos comimos.
There was an open space and a covered one, but because of the intense sun that day, we preferred to start with the covered area, where we tried most of the hamburgers we ate.
Las propuestas de los restaurantes fueron variadas, con presentaciones de 5 y 7$, añadiendo su toque de la casa a cada hamburguesa. También tenían opciones de carne de res y pollo, aunque no pudimos probar ninguna de pollo, tanto por lo económico, como por la capacidad gástrica.
The restaurants offered a variety of options, with burgers priced at $5 and $7, each with its own signature touch. They also had beef and chicken options, although we couldn't try any of the chicken ones, both because of the low price and our limited stomach capacity.
Esta fue la hamburguesa que más me gustó, ya qué estaba hecha con birria, y realmente lograron un buen sabor, aunque no fue elegida por el restaurante para competir. La anterior fue la propuesta de ese restaurante, con carne de costilla a la parrila, y la verdad, fue la que menos me gustó.
This was my favorite burger, since it was made with birria (a type of beef), and they really achieved a good flavor, even though the restaurant didn't choose it to compete. The previous one was their entry, made with grilled rib meat, and honestly, it was my least favorite.
Una de las opciones mas interesantes que probamos fue esta hamburguesa, que reposaba en una cama de queso cheddar derretido. La verdad, la hamburguesa era muy simple, pero el queso estaba muy bueno, por lo que llegamos a utilizarlo con otras hamburguesas, jajaja.
One of the most interesting options we tried was this burger, which rested on a bed of melted cheddar cheese. To be honest, the burger itself was very simple, but the cheese was so good that we ended up using it on other burgers, jajaja.
La mayor decepción para mí en esa tarde fue esta, pues venía del restaurante con más personas en cola y era la que tenía el mayor tiempo de espera. Los sabores eran medio desordenados y competían entre ellos, y siendo sincero, en este momento no recuerdo ni cual fue su propuesta en cuanto a ingredientes.
The biggest disappointment for me that afternoon was this one, as it came from the restaurant with the longest queue and had the longest wait. The flavors were somewhat disorganized and competed with each other, and to be honest, I can't even remember what their menu was supposed to include.
Esta fue otra que también estuvo buena, con prosciutto y ruculla, aunque lo negativo fue lo invasivo del sabor del embutido, que hasta opaco por momentos el resto de ingredientes, y la carne y otros ingredientes, pasaron a un segundo plano.
This was another one that was also good, with prosciutto and arugula, although the negative aspect was the invasive flavor of the sausage, which at times overshadowed the rest of the ingredients, and the meat and other ingredients took a back seat.
Al final fui el único que pudo seguir comiendo hasta el final, pues creo que nos pasamos un poquito en lo que pedimos, jajaja.
In the end, I was the only one who could keep eating until the end, because I think we went a little overboard with what we ordered, jajaja.
Ya para el final, probamos esta con cebolla crispy, que realmente fue de las mejores que probé, aunque siendo sincero, creo que no la disfrute tanto porque ya estaba al limite, jajaja.
Finally, we tried this one with crispy onions, which was truly one of the best I've ever tasted, although to be honest, I don't think I enjoyed it as much because I was already at my limit, jajaja.
Y como no podia fallar, para terminar la faena, pedí una barquilla de mantecado, que la verdad, estaba muy cremosa y deliciosa, y aunque no pude probar ninguna de las hamburguesas ganadoras, al menos me fui lleno y feliz, jajaja.
And since I couldn't fail, to finish the job, I ordered a cone of ice cream, which was really creamy and delicious, and although I couldn't try any of the winning burgers, at least I left full and happy, jajaja.
Como nos paso el año pasado, de las ganadoras del certamen, no llegamos a probar ninguna, esto en parte por culpa de un amigo, que probó la que queda como campeona y nos dijo que no estaba tan buena, jajaja. Lo peor, es que esta la presentación de sus hamburguesas fue muy buena.
Just like last year, we didn't get to try any of the competition winners, partly because a friend tried the winning burger and told us it wasn't that good, jajaja. The worst part is, the presentation of their burgers this year was excellent.
Esta última foto fue como terminó mi hermano, pues abusamos de la cantidad de comida, teniendo que tomarse un par de pastillas para mejorar sus sintomas de pesadez, mientras que yo por suerte, no lo necesite, jajaja.
This last photo shows how my brother ended up, because we overdid it with the amount of food, and he had to take a couple of pills to alleviate his symptoms of heaviness, while luckily I didn't need them, jajaja.
