Una rosca de pan,
deja ver su mirar,
dos ojos aparecen sin afán
son grandes y de belleza sin igual.
Cada uno quiere ir a un lado
como si estuvieran enfadados,
no logran un acuerdo bien logrado
y se molestan por lo que está pasando.
A loaf of bread,
reveals its gaze,
two eyes appear without haste,
they are large and of unparalleled beauty.
Each one wants to go its own way,
as if they were angry,
they can’t quite come to an agreement,
and they’re upset by what’s
happening.
La cuchara le propone a la rosquilla,
con precaución dividirla,
es así como tras un rato hay dos rosquillas
y cada una con una mirada bonita.
Una de ellas feliz se va
y la otra triste está,
se queda esperando en ese lugar
hasta que llega una estrella fugaz.
The spoon suggests to the doughnut
that they split it carefully,
and so, after a while, there are two doughnuts,
each with a pretty face.
One of them happily goes away,
while the other is sad,
it stays there waiting
until a shooting star appears.
La estrella le dice que la siga
y la media rosquilla la sigue con prisa
y cuando regresa la otra mitad comida,
se pone triste porque extraña a su amiga.
Y cuando mira el firmamento,

The star tells her to follow it,
and the half-bagel hurries after it.
And when the other half returns, half- eaten,
it feels sad because it misses its friend.
And when it looks up at the sky,
the half-bagel is flying through the heavens,
following the brightly shining star,
enjoying its new home.
