I treated myself yesterday by buying a mini cake roll from Swee Heng Bakery.
It's one of the popular bakery chains in the city. This brand amazes me because they consistently produce delicious and unique products while maintaining affordable prices. I’d say I’m a loyal customer... I always choose their breads and cakes over the more well-known bakery chain, BreadTalk. I used to be a BreadTalk customer until I discovered Swee Heng and noticed the price difference.
I still go for BreadTalk once in a while to get the breads and pastries I used to enjoy, but most of the time, I choose Swee Heng because they consistently come up with unique products that I’m curious to try.
One of their new releases is a line of crepe cakes. Right now, they have two flavors available: Tiramisu and Matcha with Apple. The matcha one looks tempting, but I'm just a huge fan of Tiramisu, so that was the first flavor I tried yesterday.
There’s something about classic flavors that never fails to draw me in. Maybe it’s because I’m already familiar with the taste, so I feel like it won’t disappoint me? That’s just how I see it. :) Some people are more adventurous with food and would probably go for the matcha and apple combo. If the flavor had been split into a matcha cake and an apple cake, I might’ve given one of them a try. But combining the two made me unsure; so I just went with the Tiramisu. LOL
I really enjoy coffee-flavored cakes, so this one was an easy treat for me. I finished it in one sitting... hahaha!
If you’re a fan of coffee-flavored desserts like me, the Tiramisu crepe cake from Swee Heng is definitely worth a try. I’m always excited to see what new treats they’ll come up with next. Until then, I’ll be keeping an eye (and appetite) out for their latest releases!
