Finding warmth in simple pleasures: Tea & Maggi

in Photo-essay3 days ago

The start of winter season in India see a high demand of hot beverages. The sell of coffee, soup or tea were in high demand. It also gives a good earning opportunity to many people who wants to earn handsome money. In India, as the winter sets in, a cup of Tea and a plate of Maggi (noodles) were in high demand. One can find many kiosks, stalls on the street along the road side serving warm hot food items to commuters. These stall or kiosks serves the item 24*7. They were mainly found outside any office complex or outside any commercial establishment. If you are feeling late at night, and not in a mood to cook, simply look out for these office spaces. There were multiple vendors serving the hot plate of Maggi or a cup of tea. I think this tea and Maggi is a unique combination during winter as it is a quick mode to satisfy craving of the individuals during winter. I remember whenever we went to hill station or on high altitude area, these tea and Maggi were our go to food. They does not take much time to prepare.

Hot beverages like tea / coffee and quick warm comfort foods satisfy the body's need for internal warmth, boost energy in cold weather. This is why they were always in high demand. These food items offer convenient, satisfying meals when people crave hearty snacks and less water, making a cup of hot tea and instant noodles perfect, easy-to-make winter staples for staying cozy and energized. During our trip to Himachal last year, we stopped at multiple location, either to take tea or enjoy the combo of tea and Maggi noodles.

I always enjoy sipping a cup of hot beverages in the hill. The pleasure of a hot beverage in a breathtaking, tranquil setting, is always perfect for a peaceful escape or a moment of quiet reflection on our life. In India, a cup of this beloved beverage is a daily ritual, often enjoyed in the morning or evening as a moment of peace and reflection. There is nothing quite like the simple comfort of a hot cup of spiced tea / chai to warm the soul, especially on any winter day.

embracing the serenity with a cup of tea

On a cold winter days a piping hot bowl of Maggi and a steaming cup of tea provide a sense of warmth that feels incredibly satisfying, almost like a "warm hug". The heat makes a simple meal feel extraordinary.

Me and my friends assumes that, Maggi, tastes better in the mountains. It is a life saver food item. At high altitudes where food options are limited, a hot Maggi and tea can feel like a life saving, energy boosting meal after a long journey or trek. Always enjoyable eating it in a remote isolated location amplifies the feeling of cozy nostalgia. I personally recommend it as an idea food for winter and mountains.

In good faith - Peace!!

I always notice that the tea in India is cloudier than the stuff that we have over here. Do they add milk to it or something? What kind of tea is it? I don't drink coffee at all, but I do enjoy a cup of tea from time to time.

Tea without milk is incomplete in india... there could multiple flavour..some like cardamom flavoured while ginger tea is most selling during winter...tea leaves alongwitj flavoured item were boiled in milk added with sugar then served hot....at some places there were boiled in mud pot giving it different taste.

Goat milk though right? Or is cow milk okay there, just not eating the whole cow?

Eating cow is not in our culture. They were preferred by certain community (islam) but other use to worship cows....even cow dung and urine were used for many religious purpose

Interesting. I knew it was kind of not a thing over there, but I wasn't sure if that was just some people or if it was everyone.

For Hinduism cow is sacred animal, but still there are many slaugter hause to fulfill the demand of the community. Here many people prefer male goat and it was use for sacrifices too at many temples.....india is vast and vibrant...😉 simultaneously strange and interesting

Nope..no goat milk. We dont consume goat milk here except for few people at remote location.....we usually prefer cow or buffalo milk. Either freshly squeezed from them or pasteurised one. There are many company selling pasteurised cow milk....

Interesting. Thanks for the education! I definitely had a misconception about that.

I think I should share about "khataal" the place at many cities that keep these animals for milking. They manually milk and supply to customer...most people like to have the fresh milk but in absence of it, people rely on the packaged milk available at store

Okay, that makes sense. We have farms here where they milk cows, but I didn't know if they did that in India due to the scared status of the animal.
