Hello Hive Community.
I hope you all are fine. I am also fine here. This is my entry for the #monomad challenge June 5th. Whenever I create a post in the #monomad community, I choose a new topic every time. But this time no topic was available so I made a post on wildlife today. The lake that appears in today's post is Thol Lake. Thol Lake is one of the most beautiful wetlands in the state of Gujarat. Located near Thol village in Mehsana district, about 30 km from Ahmedabad, this lake is famous for its peaceful natural environment and rich bird diversity. This lake attracts nature lovers, photographers and tourists throughout the year.

As can be seen in the photographs taken above, the calm waters, open grasslands and marshy areas around the lake make an ideal habitat for a large number of resident and migratory birds. Due to which Thol Lake is often called a paradise for bird lovers. More than 100 species of birds have been recorded in and around the lake. The best time to visit this lake and observe birds is from November to February. During this time, migratory birds arrive from regions like Central Asia, Europe and Siberia.

Nature often presents beautiful moments that remain in our memories for a long time. One such moment can be seen in the photograph presented above. Where two birds can be seen flying beautifully in the sky at dusk. This photograph is simple. Yet it conveys a deep sense of peace, freedom and natural beauty. Against the soft and dim light of the evening, the birds appear as dark silhouettes moving steadily across the vast sky. During this time, many birds return to their nests after spending the day in search of food.

As you can see in the photographs above, the landscape around the Thol Lake is a mix of wetlands, grasslands and rural settlements. Another characteristic of this lake is that the spread of water in the lake changes according to the season. Rains during the monsoon increase the water level. This increase in water significantly expands the area of the lake. In the winter season, when migratory birds arrive. During that time the lake usually has shallow water which provides an ideal feeding ground for waterfowl and migratory birds. During the summer months, the water level drops, exposing mudflats which attract a variety of bird species.

As can be seen in the photographs above, the large open area surrounding the lake provides ample space for birds to rest, nest and forage. Talking about this lake, this lake is a man-made reservoir that was originally created for irrigation purposes. Over time, natural ecological processes have transformed it into an important wetland habitat. The lake consists of shallow water areas, wetlands, grasslands and muddy shores. As I have discussed earlier, one of the most distinctive geographical features of Thol Lake is its shallow depth.

As can be seen in the photographs above, there are also small islands and high areas of land in many places within the lake. These areas serve as safe resting and nesting sites for many bird species.
I believe that Thol Lake is one of the most valuable wetlands in Gujarat. This lake is an excellent place for bird lovers. The calm waters of this lake, beautiful scenery and the remarkable diversity of resident and migratory birds make it a unique natural attraction. Thol Lake is not only a place of scenic beauty but also an important sanctuary that contributes greatly to the conservation of wildlife and protection of nature.
