I posted about the Granville bridge in two recent publications- here and here. After I crossed this bridge, I made my merry way to Granville island, where there’s quaint and quirky market by the ocean side. I decided to take a few black-and-white snapshots of the area, and this is my entry for the #monomad challenge.

Reaching the southern end of the bridge and following this sign, you’ll make your way to the market by looping around northward, where you'll enter a connector tunnel that looks like the perfect set for a chase scene in an action movie.

This granite stone monument is located in Granville Loop park, right after you exit the tunnel shown in the previous photo.

This area is one of the most visited tourist attractions of the city with its market, shops, restaurants, and plenty of entertainment mixed with an industrial vibe that is reminiscent of the olden days.

Never say artists are lazy. It takes a lot of effort to throw an insult 😂

Cybertruck looking bad-ass in black and white and bringing a cyberpunk edge to the scene
Walking further and making sure you don't get run over by the brisky traffic, you follow the path beneath the Granville bridge towards the ocean.

At night, the market sign lights up in neon colours, so I'll have to revisit at night and get a proper shot when it's lit.

Paying homage to the historical roots of the city, piracy in the high seas is very much welcomed as you can see.

It has functional water cannons to terrorize landlubbers on boats up and down the Creek
Nature is never too far away from the city, and the ubiquitous black berry bush is always present.

Nature is also very delicious, and its harvest is very much welcomed in an ecologically responsible and certified manner.

The bridge has other uses beside transportation. The following photograph shows the Relief- a halibut fishing vessel built in 1929. It was saved from the scrap heaps by the Sandbar Restaurant nearby and was mounted on a concrete base beneath the bridge. It’s now a wonderful relic of the past that reminds visitors of its historical significance to this area.

Here comes the aquabus to pick you up for only a few aquabucks. Thank you for visiting and bon voyage!
