A Sunday Reflection / Una reflexión dominical
Happy Sunday, my friends! Another week is coming to an end, and soon the year will be over. Sometimes I wish 2025 wouldn't end. To be honest, I’m afraid of the future. With all the evolution and divisions between countries that I’ve been seeing lately, along with the issues in my own country, I fear what 2026 will bring. I know tough times are ahead. On the bright side, more material to photograph, but it also takes a toll on mental health to witness so many injustices.
In this series, I show a little bit of the buses we travel in. These buses are ancient. For those who live in more developed countries, they must seem like relics, but we still ride them, paying 1.50 soles (about half a dollar). There are routes that cost 3 soles (1 dollar). The buses are incredibly hot, literally like a sauna. Anyway, that's the reality. I've posted thousands of photos about this before. Then, I’m surprised to see someone put a uniform on a bus driver. I don’t understand; it feels like they want to prove or distinguish themselves from others. As I read recently, the ego is a silent enemy within us.
During my walk, I found two things that caught my attention: one was a bench outside a restaurant on the sidewalk, which is a public space, but with a big sign saying "Only for customers." So, what’s it doing there? The bench was shining due to its absence. The other thing was an elephant head on a restaurant facade, alongside other animal taxidermy. It was strange. As always, the street vendors, selling whatever they can to survive, especially during these times.
Well, my friends, it’s a Sunday, just like any other day. I woke up at 6 am, but now I’m going to continue resting. I wish you all the best vibes. Rest well!

Una reflexión dominical / A Sunday Reflection
Feliz domingo mis amigos, se termina una semana más y pronto el año. A veces no quisiera que se termine el 2025. Puedo ser sincero, me da miedo el futuro, entre tanta evolución y divisiones entre los países que veo últimamente, y los problemas en mi país, me da miedo que sea el 2026. Sé que se vienen tiempos difíciles, y por un lado, bueno, más material para fotografiar, pero también desgasta un poco la salud mental ver tantas injusticias.
En esta serie muestro un poco los buses en los que viajamos. Tienen miles de años. Para los que viven en países más desarrollados, deben ser una reliquia, pero aquí seguimos viajando, subiendo y pagando 1.50 soles, que equivale a medio dólar. Hay tramos que cuestan 3 soles, 1 dólar. Son súper calientes, como un sauna, literal. Bueno, ahí viajamos, ya he posteado mil fotos sobre esto. Luego, me sorprende ver que alguien le ponga uniforme a un chofer, no entiendo. Siento que quiere demostrar o diferenciarse ante los demás. Como leí hace poco, el ego es un enemigo silencioso que tenemos dentro.
En mi andar, encontré dos cosas que me llamaron la atención. Una fue una banca afuera de un restaurante, pero en la acera, que es libre, pero con un gran mensaje: "Solo para clientes". Entonces, ¿qué hace ahí? La banca brillaba por su ausencia. Y luego, una cabeza de elefante en una fachada, como las demás, taxidermia en un restaurante que tenía cabezas de animales. Algo extraño. Y, como siempre, el ambulante que vende lo que puede para sobrevivir, más en estas fechas.
Bueno, mis amigos, un domingo como si fuera cualquier día. Despierto desde las 6 am, voy a seguir descansando un poco. Les deseo las mejores vibras a todos, descansen.
